MGAMULTIFUNCTION GRAIN ANALYZER
The innovative online Multifunction Grain Analyzer (onlineMGA) system was developed to meet the most demanding market requests in the continuous control and management of the grinding process.
Our objective was to combine management of the two fundamental phases of the milling process:
• grain mixing
• conditioning
The continuous technical and technological evolution of increasingly performing and reliable plants encouraged OCRIM to create a new product also for the purpose of:
• improving the quality of the end products
• guaranteeingconsistencyovertimeoftheflourproduced
• obtaininggreaterplantflexibility
• reducing maintenance costs
• complying with legislative requirements, where planned
In this optic, the control assumes increasing importance, in real time, of production in all its phases.
The chemical parameters on the grain, controllable and manageable in the cleaning and conditioning phases, are:
• protein
• humidity
Proteinmonitoringhasafinalobjectivetoproduceflourwithconsistentcharacteristicsovertime.Grain humidity control, in various water adding sequences, is fundamental to obtain correct conditioning, one of the most important sessions of the milling process. This new onlineMGA equipment, allows OCRIM to group measurement of both protein and humidity parameters in one tool positioned along a line.
The absence of cumbersome installation structures, use of state of the art NIR technology, connected to an advanced machine control system, enable the best use of the device in multiple critical points of the milling process. Combined with the automated management system and through continuous and constant grain analysis, the onlineMGA guarantees performance well beyond simple monitoring of the protein and humidity values.
TECHNOLOGY
The reading system was developed on VIS-NIR technology, based on Near Infrared Spectroscopy.Strikingthesubstanceswithalightbeamwithadefinedfrequencyrange,a different absorption spectrum is obtained composed of various wavelengths. Using this mode, directly on the protein and water molecules in the grain, you obtain greater reading accuracy and direct detection in real time.
FUNCTIONING
Humidity
The most important innovative aspect of the onlineMGA is the use of a second grain conditioningprocess, aswellasthefirst, thuseliminatingtheproblemlinkedtoalreadywetproduct measurements.
Introducing a reliable tool for both conditioning sessions will enable continuous retroactive adjustment of the quantities of water added in both wetting phases, to obtain the constant desired humidity percentage over time of the grain sent for grinding.
Anotherimportantusepointwasidentifiedinthereceiptofrawmaterialintheplant.Positionedon receipt before storage, the device will be able to measure the humidity percentage of the entire product batch, enabling immediate monitoring and assessment of the inbound grain.
Via @mill OCRIM management, all the parameters obtained in the various sessions can be registered and combined in various storage and working batches, thus guaranteeing excellent production tracking.
PRODUCE RECEIPT CONDITIONING
Protein
At the same time as the grain humidity analysis session, by taking advantage of the same installation points, measurement is also taken of the protein value in the cereal.
Controlling this size also maintains equilibrated quality of the mix of grains up to grinding.
By setting a reference parameter (set point), by taking advantage of the corrections implemented in retroaction and using the weighted doser adjustments outbound of the mixing cells, you can obtain automatic balancing, constant and in real time of the protein content referring to the mix in progress.
Also in this session, the @mill OCRIM tracking system will associate and archive the relevant protein value for each product allocated to the batch and working phase.
