Welcome back to school! It has been a great week. We are so glad to meet all of our new multiage friends, and welcome back our old timers. We are looking forward to all the learning adventures we have planned for this school year!

We have been very busy this week learning our classroom routines and schedules. We are working on taking responsibility for our learning and completing work on time. Students are doing a great job managing their work time to get their work completed. If your child comes home with work throughout the week that is marked “fix” or “homework”, please have them complete it at home and return to school the following day.

We have been reading with our learning buddies, writing in our writing folders, publishing our writing, and completing some math activities to review some counting concepts. With the help of our old timers, the first timers are feeling comfortable with our classroom routines and schedules. It has been a wonderful first week of school. We are so impressed with how the kids have adjusted to our new classroom!

Friday Folders go home today for the weekend. Please read the contents of the folder, sign, and return the empty folder back to school on Monday. If there is any unfinished work or assignments that say “Fix, please”, have your child make the necessary corrections, and return the work on Monday. We make every attempt to have the kids make the corrections at school, but sometimes we run out of time. Thanks for your cooperation.

Parent helper schedule is attached if you signed up to help in the classroom. We will start helpers next week. If the day or frequency needs to be changed, please give us a call. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help in the classroom.

Thanks to Cindy Lyons and Renee Johnston who volunteered to be our room parents. They will be coordinating and helping us to organize our classroom parties and events. If you signed up to help at parties, they will be contacting you for supplies or help.
