MULTI-PURPOSE SHELVING
DIMAXMULTI-PURPOSE SHELVING
Set up as a company specialising in theorganisation of space, Armes has operatedsuccessfully in the field of warehousing andstorage since 1956. Our company stands out asan example of a robust, reliable productionsystem employing state-of-the-art equipment. Our advanced technological/managerial know-how gives added value to a product that hasencountered widespread customer approval for years.
Starting from the diagnosis of the customer’sneeds, through the planning stage and theinstallation of fully operational, integratedsystems, we are able to offer a complete service. In addition to the vast range of our ownproducts we also work closely with the associatecompanies that form part of the Ferretto Group:Promag Spa (San Polo d’Enza), specialists in thearea of storage automation systems andArchimede Ingegneria Srl (Busto Arsizio).
Thus Armes has at its disposal the strength andflexibility of what is, in effect, a globalpartnership. We are able to offer solutions ofvarying degrees of sophistication, each onetailored to the customer’s unique requirements. We can furnish highly complex automaticinstallations on a turn-key basis and also provideafter-sale service.

Armes has always been tightly focusedon two fundamental areas: high qualityand the use of cutting-edge productionmethods and technology. As a result of this policy, our companycan safely say that it is one of theleaders in its field. Proof of this claimlies in the fact that Armes belongs to anelite group of companies that havesigned up to the CISI program of auto-certification created by the Associationof Italian Steel Constructors.
The CISI logo, "CISI QUALITA’ ESICUREZZA" (CISI QUALITY ANDSAFETY) represents a guarantee that themanufacturers who display it adoptcertain specific, stringent procedures.Procedures which ensure that theproducts regulated and distinguished bysaid logo have been manufactured inaccordance with codified norms andstandards.
Our policy of high quality also involvesthe various phases of the productionprocess. The company has beenawarded the WPQR (Welding ProcedureQualification Record), a certificaterenowned at European level, by BureauVeritas for all welding operations.

…AND OF A CERTIFIED SYSTEM
D10 is the lightest and thinnest line inthe DIMAX family, suitable for the
creation of traditional storagesystems of limited height, and for use
as a functional and decorativeelement for offices, shops andhomes, thanks to the essential
design of the upright with 4 folds.
D20 is the appropriate functionalresponse to the specific needs of
archives, libraries and depots. The ‘T’-shaped upright with 8 foldsprovides the shelving considerable
strength and load capacity, as well as the possibility
to create mezzanines with onepassageway level.
The DIMAX multi-purpose shelving line is made up of models D10 • D20 • D30 • D40enriching the vast range of products thatArmes manufactures and proposes to the market. This is a shelving systemthat allows the creation of highly-structured and variable
storage levels according to the specificneeds of the user, and represents aninnovative evolution from traditionalshelving. The most suitable type ofupright and model of shelf to be used arechosen in relation to the performancerequired, such as the height, the load

The D30 and D40 uprights, only differing in thickness,
represent the ideal solution for applications that require high capacity and/or extended heights.

capacity of each level, the overall loadcapacity of the bay and the type of material to be stored. This is the mainfeature of the DIMAX shelving: a product complete with a multitude ofaccessories that responds and adapts to different requirements.
UTIONS
SIMPLE, SOLID, VERSATILE
Rapid assembly, solidity andextreme versatility are the uniquefeatures of the three models offrames; the bases are fitted withmetal or PVC foot plates, accordingto the height of the shelving and thetype of the upright.
Thanks to the different sections andconstructional criteria, the three modelsof uprights, joined in pairs by diagonalsand/or link bars, allow the creation offrames that can be adapted in terms ofdimensions and capacity to variousapplications.
THE FRAMES:
As for the D10 frame, the uprights arejoined by coupled link bars provided
with safety slots to prevent accidentaldetaching. Depending on the height, thefoot plates can be made of PVC or metal
for anchoring to the floor.
This frame is made up of twouprights joined together by easily-
coupled link bars provided with safetyslots to prevent accidental detaching.
The foot plates are made of PVC.

This solution, as well as providingsignificant strength, also ensures high loadcapacities and resolves the problemsrelating to safety, by eliminating anyreachable sharp edges. The ‘Z’ shelves areavailable in versions ZM and ZD, in relationto their load capacity.

The special configuration of the shelves allowsthe simple insertion of stiffeners inpredetermined positions; this means thatconsiderable load capacities can be reached.Owing to the possibility to modify the number
of the stiffeners at any time and to theireasy positioning, the capacity of the
shelves can be modified overtime, depending on their
specific use.
The shelves can be regular orperforated, so as to allow the
application of dividers forcreating compartments of
various dimensions. The regularshelves feature dividers that fit onto
and can slide along the shelves.
In relation to the size of the shelves, containers can also be used forinserting mobile dividers and
storing loose materials of smallor medium dimensions.

The elaborate range of shelves in the DIMAX system is considerably enhanced, for models D30 • D40,
by the D and Z beams. These are reversible beams that canbe used for positioning galvanised
metal shelves as well as shelves madeof other materials, creating storage levels with significant load capacity.
If these beams are used, either with double sidedor wall shelving, the appropriate spacers have to beconsidered.

The load capacities of the differentelements consider the weight of the structure itself and the usefulload, assuming that the load is uniformly distributed (u.d.l.).The load capacity of the frames is calculated considering the factorsthat define the working conditions
of the frames: the number, the position in height of the shelves, the use of vertical cross-bracings, and the characteristics of the floor anchoring system. The deflection of the shelves used inthe DIMAX system is containedwithin 1/200 of the span.

The special design and construction of the DIMAX system makes this type of shelving ideal for creating mezzanine structures, even with multi-tiered and of extended heights, allowing a rationalexploitation of space.
Various solutions are available for the decking, from perforated or closed galvanised floor strips, to wooden panels. In addition, when dictated by aestheticrequirements, other finishes areavailable (linoleum, carpet, etc).
