It is important to NOTE:There are several ways to apply mud and tape!

We are going to focus on the “traditional” way

Starting with the mudding compound

The IDEAL consistency for the

mud is that of somewhere between

peanut butter and pancake batter

First process is to cover over all drywall screws.

Covering the Seams

Step 1: Seal the Seam with mud

Step 2: Apply the tape over the seam

Step 3: Apply compound over tape

Once compound is applied over the tape, the first part of the job

is done.

We then apply 2 more coats of compound

over the tape – feathering it wider on

each coat

INSIDE CORNERS

Step 1: Apply compound to both sides of the corner

Step 2: Bend the tape into a corner shape

Step 3: Fit into the mudded corner

Step 4: Apply more compound over the tape

We then apply 2 more coats of compound

over the tape – feathering it wider on

each coat
