The MotoGP 2011 contenders came last Sunday tothe Losail international track, for the rst round of theseason.Apart from being awaited by enthusiasts of this sport,the event was special in that it took place at night.Of the two teams supported technically by Motul andtaking part in this 2011 world championship, TeamYamaha Tech3 honourably completed this rst 2011round by pocketing a total of 13 points in the generalstandings. Colin Edwards indeed managed to climb to

eighth position just behind a certain Valentino Rossi!

For his rst MotoGP race, Cal Crutchlow, for his part,demonstrated he had all the required qualities to pro-gress in this sport, by clinching eleventh place.It was a morose weekend, on the other hand, for TeamRizla Suzuki which couldnt start the race due to AlvaroBautistas fall during the third test session. He has suf-fered a fracture of the left thighbone and will be repla-ced by John Hopkins at the Jerez Grand Prix in April.

t of the handicapped.On 19 March a hundred or so residents, from a dozenhomes for the handicapped and drop-in centres in theIle de France region, were offered rst-time rides on atrack on board sports cars, GT cars or prestige cars,at the legendary Linas-Montlhry track.Like many other partners, Motul was present to supportthis ne initiative combining passion and solidarity.Thousands of smiles were generated during the day,and a chairty auction sale, helped by magni cent gifts,

was also reason to smile!

As promised in Motul Sport News No. 06, the end-of-season duel for the award of the Nizzpro Series titlewas enthralling between Rob Whyte (winner of rounds3 & 4) and Eugene Arendsen (winner of rounds 1 & 2).Indeed, as equal leaders of the championship followingthe fourth round, the Team Motul Nismo Australia driversmanaged to maintain suspense even in the last nal of the fth and last round of the season on 13 March.Following this nal, which they wont easily forget, it was

nally Rob Whyte who won despite mechanical troubleat the beginning of the meeting. After the pole positionhe secured earlier in the day and this win in the nal, theNissan 350Z driver did the grand slam by clinching on

the same occasion the Nizzpro Series 2011 title!

Apart from organising riding lessons and riding daysknown to motorcyclists throughout Europe, and of which Motul is a partner, DG Sport is also a racingteam participating in the World Endurance Cham-pionship (Superstock category).In this framework, this Belgian team participatedin its rst 2011 tests on the Albacete track for twodays. Olivier Depoorter, the teams new rider took advantage of the opportunity to get to know histeam mate Raymond Schouten. While both of themdiscovered their motorcycle in its 2011 version, onthe other hand, Denis Bouan (the third rider) was

absent.

Despite cold and rainy weather on these two days andan impressive fall by Raymond Schouten (fortunatelynot serious), Olivier Aerts, Team DG Sport manager,was nevertheless pleased with this rst test session:Im very satis ed with our tests, above all if we placein the balance the fact that Olivier was discoveringthe R1! We feel weve found a good set-up for thechassis. Raymond was very lucky, so to speak, withhis accident and I hope hell soon regain total con -dence in himself. For his part, Olivier has progressed well. A third day would have been ideal. However,well soon be at Magny-Cours and will at last be able

to compare ourselves with our main rivals.
