BluSky ArmorTM Aerospace Clear Top Coat 1027 Gloss Product Description A UV LED light curable non yellowing glossy coating that easily cures tack free in under two minutes. This product contains no VOCs and can be sprayed onto the desired substrate with no reduction. Storage

Store product at ambient temperature (< 70 °F). Storing at cooler temperatures will increase product lifetime. Storing at higher temperatures will decrease product lifetime. Products is warranteed to be free from defects in performance and design for a period of 6 months from the date of manufacture if stored at < 70 °F without opening. Any tampering, misuse or negligence in handling or use of the Product renders the warranty void. Further, the warranty is void if, at any time, Customer opens the product or stores the Product in a manner inconsistent with the recommended conditions Method of Use Product is stable under typical ambient room lighting for 10 – 30 minutes. Stability can be extended by using filtered lights in the area where the product is being used. Recommended filters: 3 mil Kapton films from American Durafilm. Kapton films will provide several days of stability. These films block light up to 500 nm and will make the room appear yellow. Clear UV Protective Films that block light up to 400 nm will provide several hours of stability. Product may not be mixed with other clear top coat products. Product may be reduced with IPA (91% technical grade). Do not use the product in areas exposed to direct or indirect sunlight (i.e. through windows). Product is unstable and will cure upon exposure to sunlight. Surface Preparation Clean the surface area to remove any contamination. Use sand paper or Scotch Brite. Remove dust using compressed air. Wipe away any remaining dust and residue with a solvent such as isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth. Some primers are okay. For applications on wood, no sealer is required, MSI 1027 is a self-sealing material.

Application Apply in a well ventilated room, use appropriate PPE and a respirator for spray coating (see SDS). Brush, roll or spray onto substrate at room temperature (70 – 85 °F). Substrate temperature should be 60 – 85 °F. Any spray equipment may be used – follow the manufacturers best practices protocol. After use, unused resin should be stored in an opaque container and may be reused as long as the viscosity has not increased. Unused resin should not be returned to the original container. The spray equipment should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Apply coating at thickness of 1 – 2 mil. Recommended number of coats: 2 – 4. Curing Cure coating under a 390-410 nm LED light (recommended). Irradiation time varies for different lights at different distances. For Edison ELS UV 150 W Light.

Processing The coatings can be, but may not be necessary to be, sanded between coatings. Recommended to use non-stearated 320 grit and up from 3M. After sanding, clean with compressed air and then wipe off with solvent such as isopropyl alcohol – (91% technical grade). Repeat coatings as many times as necessary until desired coat is obtained. After the last layer is cured surface can be polished/buffed 5 minutes after the light is turned off. Polishing For best results, polish using MSI Polishing Products.
