ANNEXURE- VI
BREIF MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
GENERAL MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF REACTIVE DYESTUFF
Reactive Dyestuff intermediate aromatic amine is diazotised using hydrochloric acid and
sodium nitrite in aqueous medium and coupled with coupling components like H- acid, J-
acid, acetylated H-acid or J-acid, Metaurido aniline etc. using caustic soda/Soda Bicarbonate/
Soda Ash for adjustment of reaction pH conditions. Generally these reactions are carried at 0-
10 oC. Dyestuffs thus obtained are sometimes directly spray dryed and packed. Sometimes
additional reactions like cyanuration with Cyanuric chloride and condensation reaction with
reactive vinyl sulphone esters are carried. The dyestuffs thus obtained in solution form is
spray dryed and packed. Many times these Dyestuff clear solutions are passed through nano-
filtration systems for concentration purposes (for increasing solid content. The crude powder
obtained from spray dryer blended with Globour salt to make final finished product.

ANNEXURE-VIII
EFFLUENT TREATMENT PROCESS:
M/s. Astik Dyestuff Pvt. Ltd. has an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) comprising of Primary
and Secondary treatment followed by Tertiary treatment.
Washing effluent from reaction vessels cleaning ,press cleaning , spray drier cleaning and
from bathing comes to Oil and Grit separator and then into equalization tank.(Approx.800 –
900mg/lit COD) , Equalization’s tanks COD is adjusted to 1300 – 1500 mg/lit by dosing the
required quantity of Nano filtrations permuit solution. Then pH is adjusted to 3.5 with
Sulphuric Acid. This solution is passed in between two assemblies of static mixtures at the
rate of 4 KL/hr where dosing of FeSO4 - 25 % solution and H2O2 -50 % solution is feed at
desired rate. The outlet of static mixture then enters into reaction tanks – 2 nos. and then
passed into neutralizer tanks where lime slurry is pumped with continuous monitoring and
outlet effluent with pH 7.0 – 8.0. This solution enters into flocculator where polyelectrolyte
solution dosing is done. The outlet of flocculator enters into setting tanks. The overflow of
setting tanks then passed into aeration tanks. The aeration tanks overflow effluent passed
through sand filter. The outlet of sand filter discharged through discharge tank. Treated
effluent is discharged into GIDC underground drainage system leading to inlet of M/s.
Narmada Clean Tech Ltd. (NCT), Ankleshwar for further treatment and its ultimate disposal
to deep sea through NCT pipeline.
The sludge from the setting tanks is filtered through filter press No. 1 to 3 the sludge obtained
after unloading filter press is dried in sludge drying bed and sent to TSDF site of M/s.
Bharuch Enviro Infrastructure Ltd. (BEIL), Ankleshwar for disposal.
