ALTAIR 5X CALIBRATION POINTS

Short Term Exposure Limit: Concentration to which workers can be exposed continuously for a short period of time (~15-30 min.)

without suffering from:

1. irritation2. chronic or irreversible tissue damage3. narcosis of sufficient degree to increase the likelihood

of accidental injury, impair self-rescue or materially reduce work efficiency.

Time Weighted Average: The average exposure over a specified period of time, usually a nominal eight hours. Workers can be exposed to a maximum of four STEL periods per 8 hour shift, with at least 60

minutes between exposure periods.

Summary

• Always start-up/calibrate the Altair 5x outside in a clean environment

• Plug the pump intake with your finger for 3 seconds during initial “pump test” calibration, until test is successful
