Ms. Wiedeman’s Class News Valentine's day started in 5 th century Rome as a memory of St. Valentine. He was a Catholic priest, which is someone who is charge of a church. Cupid, who many of you know as the angel, was introduced around the same time. Cupid is said to have a magical bow and arrow and if he shots you with an arrow, you are supposed to fall madly in love. Valentine's day is now celebrated Valentines Day History in many different countries all over the world. Many couples traditionally celebrate by going on a date or out to dinner. In the United States, we traditionally celebrate by giving our loved ones’ gifts. Some of the most popular gifts are chocolates, roses, stuffed animals, and cards.
