Ms. Ferington's Classroom
Graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelors inElementary Education,Minor in English; and also graduated with a Masters of Special Education from Niagara University.
– This is my sixth year teaching 5th grade.
• I have two children, Haylee who is 21 and Colin is 18. Haylee graduated from HOFTSRA University in Long Island. She is currently living in Connecticut. Colin is a freshman at Onondaga Community College.
• When I have time…I enjoy, camping, boating, snowmobiling and snow skiing.
• I live in the Newfane School District

Homework
• Students receive an average of 10 minutes of morning work per day
• They have time throughout the day to work on their work. If they use their time wisely, they will have no homework. We will be working very hard during the day.
• Assignments are scored through numerical percentages.• The students are required to record all work that was not
completed in their agendas. (Done daily together)• Students have the ability to correct all work/test for a
better grade. • The best homework=reading!
Grading Policy
• Participation Score -4 On time, excellent effort
-3 Late, effort was there-2 On time, little effort-1 Late, little effort
• Content Score % (determines how well a student understands the content taught)
• Grades are calculated on a weighted system: 30 % Tests 30% Projects
20% Quizzes 20% Participation/Homework
