It’s week two in the Marks & Spencer Christmas Countdown and this week we’re talking festive Food on the Move. Customers are already getting into the festive spirit – they asked us to bring out our Christmas sandwiches early and we did – and so far a whopping 1 million have been sold. In fact, we’ve raised £235,233 for our partner Shelter across our Food on the Move ranges already! What more excuse
do you need to tuck into a Turkey Feast Sandwich or our brand-new Vegan Chestnut Roast Wrap?

Product Developer Helen Brennan is responsible for developing new and exciting products for the M&S
Festive Collection for Shelter. Originally from Sheffield, Helen now lives in south west London and has worked at M&S for 31 years. She comments “Our customers
look forward to the launch of our Christmas sandwiches all year as it signals the start of the festive season. This year we’ve got 25 new sandwiches, drinks and snacks for them to try,
from our classic Turkey Feast to my favourite, the ultimate Mustard Crusted Rare Roast
Beef Roll complete with Yorkshire pudding scraps! We’re also excited to be working with
Shelter for the 12th year running, raising money to fund
all calls answered by the helpline over Christmas.”
Sam Clarke is a Shelter Helpline Adviser and supports hundreds of people each year. “I always struggle
knowing that there are families who won’t have a place to call home at Christmas, so it is comforting to know that the simple gesture of buying lunch will help us support even more people when they need us most. The funding helps us make a real difference to our
callers who are in desperate need of help, and of those struggling with issues related to
housing and homelessness.” Sam, originally from Barnsley, has worked at the Shelter helpline in
Sheffield for over two years.
