What is Generation Citizen?

Generation Citizen is a non-profit organization that helps everyday citizens make a little impact in their community.

THE ISSUEIt took a while to vote and decide on an

issue. But after careful consideration we decided to assist the unfortunate

families who’s mother, father, brother, or sister are fighting in the war,

protecting America. There were many steps in making a plan and putting it

into action, but eventually we decided on what we were going to do.

ACTION PLANThe first step of our action plan was to collect

donations and spread the word throughout the high school community. With the

donations received our teacher would go out and buy necessities for the family. We would then pack it up into a care package and send

it off, along with cards.

What We Learned• Working as a group to make a

difference is harder than it seems

• Time was a huge problem as we focused to much on voting

than the actual action plan• How great it feels to actually

help make a difference

• Packing the care package• Went on a field trip to City Year to show the public what we’ve done and have people take part in our project. • To see the end results of the votes,

and how people were really happy about the topic
