Dear Rabb i Ta nenbaum,

June 4, 1986

This letter will confirm your appearance at Temple Emanu-El , in Palm Beach, Florida, on January 23d, 24th , and 25th, 1987, as our Schol ar in residence.

As Bet forth in our previous conversation, the fee will be $3,000, to include lodging and meals.

The weekend activities begin at Fr iday evening services , where you will make your initia l presentation , in lieu of the Rabbi's sermon. On Saturday morning , some of our previous scholars have disdussed the Torah portion of the week , inasmuch as the second pres entation is made at the luncheon session , fo l lowing ser vices . Actually , our committee has not as yet met to dis cuss the format , but that will be the time for your second presentation . A rece ption for subscr ibers is held Sa turday evening, beginning wi th Havdalah , at which time an informal question and answer period has formerly been beld . Following the Shah.rit service on Sunday morning , a brunch is scheduled , when the final and SUMmarizing presentation is made .

The brochure which you enclosed, cir cling topics of a previous seminar , lists an overall topic, IIJEWISH UNITY-- TRREATS AND CHALJ....to.~GESII , and two other topics ba6ed on the above . We will require the third pre sen. tation for Sunday morning , s o we would appreciate your giving that some thought and then informing UB , for future pUblicity .

~Thank you for the biographicsl material , Rabbi Ta nenbaum. My overall cha irman has r equested that I ask you for some IIpersonal" background, 8 S to your education, etc . If you can comply, we will appreciate it.

Should you be able to arrive on Thursday the 22nd , or early in the day on Friday , the 23d, we would be able to perhaps arrange for an inte rview with the local TV station a s well as the Jewish press. Please advise us accoddingly.

I will appreciate hearing from you at your ea rliest pos sibl e convenience so t hat we will have it , officially, in writing , that you will appear here on the above ~iven dates. Also, your response to my questions will be very much appreciated.

I hope that you will be able to re l ax and enjoy a pleasant summer .

Cordially yours ,

.~Jj'~~-hL-(Mrs . Henry T. Silb rmsn) Scholar'S \</eekend Chairman
