This week we’re practicing listening to the long and short vowel e sounds. We are also learning three new sight words – all, will and because this week. We are starting our ninth math topic this week on teen numbers. Finally we are continuing to work on our writing unit on how to books. We are starting to use the word “you” in our writing to let our readers know how to do something. Since this Thursday is Groundhog’s day we’re also learning about hibernation this week. We will learn more about animals that hibernate and why they hibernate. We will also celebrate our 100 DAY OF SCHOOL on Wednesday!

Snack Help! We are in need of some snacks please!
The girls are supposed to bring snacks on the first of every month
and the boys are on the 15th of every month. Please send enough snacks for
20 kids
How to help at home…
• Read for at least 30 minutes every night
• Work on sounding out words with the kids. Have the kids start putting the letter sounds together for
words so they can see how letter sounds will help them read words
• Practice addition and subtraction at home. Have them add things around the house together and then take
away to see what the sum and difference is.
• Practice their sight words at home with them. Make f lashcards and work on them every night
