Standards Based Grading:Students will be graded based on their expertise in the common core standards identified for 7th grade. This means that students will be given multiple opportunities to master a standard before a final assessment grade is given. This does mean that they can replace a low grade as they improve instead of averaging each score. If the student shows clear mastery of a standard by the end of each quarter, that is the only grade that will be reflected on the report card. More information will be provided at Open House.

Help along the way

Online Grades:

You will need a Power School password. Grades will be updated every two weeks.

Assignment list:

My classroom website is www.mrsmurrayenglish.weebly.com On this website I provide and update the daily agenda. I will do my best to update the daily agenda by 6 p.m. each day. This is also where students can find extra credit assignments at the end of the marking period as well as other assignment links. Most stories we read will also be available here. It is recommended that you and your student review this website daily to facilitate discussion of the days tasks in English class.

Reminder emails/texts:

Please sign up to receive email and/or text messages reminding you about upcoming assignments, quizzes and tests. Standard texting rates apply. You can register as many numbers and email addresses as you’d like. Text @0f6 to 81010 OR email [email protected]. THAT IS A ZERO NOT AN O.

The district is implementing a new Power School where I should be able to do reminds and a website. As I learn the new system, I will let you know.
