What are Rocks made of?Some are made of just one kind of mineral:Pyrite (aka Fools Gold)QuartzSome are made of severaldifferent kinds of minerals:Granite
How do we classify them?Rocks are put into 3 different groups:IgneousMetamorphicSedimentary
Do they Stay the same?Rocks are always changingEach type of rock can change into another typeExample: Igneous can become MetamorphicRocks change with time, heat, and pressure
The Rock CycleThe rock cycle describes the process by which rocks change with heat and pressureThe arrows show how each type of rock changes and what it changes intoThe rock cycle is always happening and never stops
