Mrs. Betty Blume, American Legion Auxiliary President, came in to give a poppy presentation and talk about Memorial Day. She read a book about why we wear poppies, to remember veterans who have died. She then told them about the experience of her son, Philip being in the military and shared his story with the class. Mrs. Blume gave them "It’s cool to be patriotic" buttons and poppies so they can always remember and never forget those who sacrificed themselves for us.
