Dear parents and guardians, The month of May is upon us, and while we are winding down on the 2018-2019 school year, we have many activities and events during this month. It continues to be a busy month of prayer and learning for our students. I want to congratulate our 2nd graders who prayerfully prepared for their First Holy Communion and have celebrated receiving the sacrament this past week and this upcoming weekend. This past week was Art Week at St. Ignatius. The students and staff participated in numerous activities that broaden their base of experiences in the various arts. Throughout the week, students interacted with an artist about her watercolor painting, listened to a Latin music group, learned how to sketch realistic human faces, and heard the St. Ignatius band concert. It was a great week of celebrating various modes of art and providing some hands-on time with incredibly talented artists. One enlightening activity was watching a video presentation on a current artist from Japan. The artist, Yayoi Kasama, stated she always wanted to be a painter and that she saw the world as a collection of infinite small dots. She started painting at a young age and used dots in her paintings and sculptures. To celebrate Art Week and this year’s school theme “We Are Many Parts,” every student and staff member took part in creating an art installation. The installation we created began as an all white space, then throughout the week each person visited the space and added polka dot stickers. By the end of the week, what was once all white became a polka dotted representation of our school theme “We Are Many Parts!” You can see several pictures of it on our school Facebook page. JN 21: 1-19 “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?"

Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs."

He then said to Simon Peter a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?"

Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Tend my sheep."

Jesus said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?"

Peter was distressed that Jesus had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him,

"Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him “Feed my sheep.”
