Quote of the Week: “You can’t live a positive life with a negative mind.”
The way we think about life has a great impact on our daily successes and failures. Over my years of working with young people I have found these two things to be true. First, anyone who goes into a challenge thinking it can’t be done proves themselves to be correct almost every time. As we face any challenge in life we have to begin to over come it, first and foremost, with a positive mind. Once that is established we are free to give all our energy to solving the problem instead of talking ourselves out of why it won’t work. The second thing I’ve learned is that negativity kills so many things. It kills spontaneity, new ideas, happiness, desire, inclusion, and acceptance. It takes the energy out of others who are around. But most of all it kills the opportunity for things to get done. I have always found that being negative takes more out of me than being positive. It weighs on you and causes unneeded stress. Someone told me recently that if we continuously smile throughout the day, even when we aren’t happy, it tricks our body into thinking we are happy. This causes us to have good days and others see your happiness and they either join you in that happiness or wonder what you are up to. I hope your days are happy. And when those challenges come your way remember to be positive in your approach so you have the best chance for success.

Wednesday News Please label everything that comes to school. Lots of families label school clothing, but Lost
and Found is always loaded with books, lunch boxes, belts, and clothes that are not uniforms. Also, as the weather changes, please label all jackets and coats. If it has your child's name in it, we will do our best to get it back to them.

Half Day of School - October 19, 2016 Dear Holy Rosary Families,
On Wednesday, October 19, The Most Reverend Martin D. Holley will be installed as the fifth bishop of the Diocese of Memphis. Due to the installation, Holy Rosary School will be dismissed at 12:00noon on that day (pre-school at 11:30am). Everyone is invited to attend the installation. You can find more information and leave a RSVP (by Oct. 14) on the diocesan web site, www.cdom.org. Look for the invitation on their home page. This opportunity to attend an Episcopal Installation does not come very often so you may want to take advantage of this chance and attend with your family.

The 7th/8th grade varsity volleyball team received the first place trophy this past weekend in the PAA tournament. The girls won a tight game against SFA in the semi finals and then went on to defeat Sacred Heart in the finals. Congratulations lady Rams!
Holy Rosary’s 3rd-5th grade XC girls came in Third in the West Region! They also won the PAA Championship for their age group. The team has qualified for the State XC Meet next week in Knoxville! The 3rd -5th grade boys placed 6th in Regions and 4th in the PAA. The 6th-8th grade boys placed 10th in Regions and 3rd in the PAA. In addition to the 3rd-5th grade girls qualifying for the State XC Meet the following individual runners also qualified for State: Adam Willett, Brady Smith, Ben Rouse, Joe Edwards, Colin Kozlowski, Adam Kelly, Mason Zemaitis, and Hayden Wadley! Congrats to Coach Mullis and the entire XC team!

The 7th & 8th grade girls volleyball team ended their season on Top. They won the PAA tournament for the championship!!!! First they won against the #1 seed, St. Francis, in the semi-finals. Then - they won against the #2 seed, Sacred Heart, in the finals. Great job girls!!
Coaches Towne and Bryan were very happy with their 1st & 2nd grade boys soccer team.
They won against Christ Methodist 4-2!
