The students had to go back into time during week 9. We traveled back to the 1860s in reading this week during our research. The students had to write a historical fiction letter to a family member describing their joys and hardships of moving out west. In science, the students made their own fossils. We used plaster of paris and toy bugs to create the fossils. Things got a little spooky in writing because we started writing our Halloween narratives. The students sent their introduction letters to their new friends in France this week, and a couple of students got to write letters to England.
