women at the event.
Rosemary O'Mara, President, Republican Federated Women of South Florida,
Celebrating her birthday!
Representing the National Committee of Asian American Republicans (www.Asian.GOP), Executive
Director Cliff Zhonggang Li started his speech describing Asian Americans as a largely immigrant
population who have brought values that very much align with those of the Republican Party. He then
focused on the recent Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action and the real threat posed by radical
Islam for the United States. Mr. Li called the recent Supreme Court ruling a failed policy that does not
help the people in need and hurts those who try their best. He emphasized that Asian Americans, most
of whom are recent immigrants, are especially affected by this negative ruling.
In the second part of his speech, Mr. Li discussed the implications of the recent terrorist attack in
Orlando, Florida. He focused upon the looming threat of radical Islam and the need for additional
national security measures to protect Americans. He mentioned the possibility of a dirty bomb that
could be used by radical Islamists and the need to protect our nation from such terrorism. In his
concluding remarks, Mr. Li called the country to elect new leaders with an effective strategy and the
common sense to deal with the looming threat of terrorism.
