    The 2010 workshop is tentatively

    scheduled for Sept. 25 - Oct. 1.

    Be sure to include:

    A brief letter about why you want to participate in

    the Missouri Photo Workshop.

    A rsum.

    A reference letter from a professional journalist oreducator outlining how he or she thinks you wouldcontribute to and benet from the workshop.

    A portfolio with twenty (20) images. If prints,please no larger than 8x10; if CD, should be cross-

    platform. 35mm slide portfolio also acceptable. Thisportfolio is used to evaluate applicants.

    More Info:

    Workshop tuition is $600. Please include it with

    your application (payment will not be processedunless/until you are accepted.)

    Nikon loaner cameras are available to check out.

    Participants are responsible for their own food andlodging.

    Apply now - we may accept applicants who meetthe workshop criteria as we receive them - but

    scholarships will not be awarded until August 1.

    No refunds after September 1, 2011. If yourapplication is not accepted your check and portfolio

    will be returned promptly.

    Additional information on housing, the workshopand the workshop site will be sent upon acceptance

    of your application.

    Helge Hummelvoll Scholarship (tuition)

    Given to a photojournalist from outside the United States in memory of Helge Hummelvoll, a Norwegianphotojournalist killed while on assignment in Sudan, Africa.

    Missouri Press Association Scholarship (tuition and expenses)

    Given to a participant who is a member (or whose organization is a member) of the Missouri Press Associa-tion. Please enclose proof of membership.

    Nikon Emerging Professional Scholarship (tuition)

    Awarded to an applying photographer who displays enthusiasm and a talent for a career in photojournalism.

    Bill & Duane Honorary Directors Scholarship (tuition and oatmeal)

    Given in honor of former co-directors Duane Dailey and Bill Kuykendall and funded by their friends.Awarded to an applicant with interests in photographing those who work with their hands in rural America.

    Cliff & Vi Edom Scholarship (tuition)

    Given to the runner-up in the Portfolio category of the College Photographer of the Year competition.

    Mary Clerc Scholarship (tuition)

    Given annually in honor of the long-time Columbia, Mo., schoolteacher who was a wonderful photographerand editor, and a stalwart supporter of MPW. Awarded to an applicant with a keen social conscious who

    works with passion and purpose.

    Angus McDougall Award (tuition)

    Given to a photojournalist from the newspaper winning the Pictures of the Year International Angus Mc-

    Dougall Overall Excellence in Editing Award.
