2.4 Functional safety2.4.1 Basic functions of MOVIFIT® MC and FC
Due to the integrated safety concept, the MOVIFIT® MC and MOVIFIT® FC units can besafely disconnected via the 24 V_P supply voltage as standard.This includes the function• STO1) = Safe Torque Off – corresponds to stop category 0 according to EN 60204-1
with fail-safe protection against restart according to EN 1037.In addition to that, a suitable external device (e.g. safety controller) can be used to real-ize stop category 1 according to EN 60204-1. The safety function of MOVIFIT® MC and FC is suitable for safety-related applicationsup to PL d according to EN ISO 13849-1 and category 3 according to EN 954-1.
2.4.2 Additional safety functions with the PROFIsafe option /S11For MOVIFIT® MC and MOVIFIT® FC in connection with the PROFIsafe option S11, theSTO safety function can also be controlled via PROFIsafe as an option on the basis ofthe fundamental functions.The safety-oriented PROFIsafe communication with the higher-level safety controllercan be realized via PROFIBUS or PROFINET.In addition to that, the S11 option has the following safe inputs/outputs:• 4 safe inputs (F-DI) for connection of up to 4 sensors• 2 safe outputs (F-DO), each with 2 pins, designed as P-M switch, for connection of
up to 2 actuatorsThis means that the safe inputs and outputs of the S11 PROFIsafe option are suitablefor safety-oriented applications up to SIL3 according to EN 61508, PL e according to ENISO 13849-1 and safety category 4 according to EN 954-1.The drive safety function (STO) is suitable for safety-oriented applications up to PL daccording to EN ISO 13849-1 and category 3 according to EN 954-1.

2.7.3 ASEPTIC gearmotors DASSEW-EURODRIVE offers system solutions for entire production plants in the food andbeverage industry through the combination of gearmotors in ASEPTIC design, theASEPTICplus drive package and decentralized MOVIFIT® drive electronics in Hygienic-plus design.ASEPTIC gearmotors are not equipped with fans, which prevents a distribution of germsby air swirls. They are available in three motor sizes of types DAS80, DAS90 andDAS100 and can be mounted directly on helical, parallel shaft helical, helical-worm, he-lical-bevel or SPIROPLAN® gear units. The smooth surface of ASEPTIC gearmotorsmakes for easy cleaning. There is no build up of dirt with this design and it virtually pre-vents the formation of germs or bacteria.
