The idea was initiated as part of Public Nutrition and Nutritional Epidemiology as there was a need to sensitize the school community about right nutrition and also to strive towards incorporating nutrition education as regular curriculum in the school. The first programme conducted in various government schools was well received and this started the journey of continuous programme covering various government schools in different localities. Apart from creating a change among the school children in Government schools, post graduate students participation in developing and preparing interactive modules has enhanced their own understanding regarding the practical applicability of public health nutrition course. The unique program has contributed to involvement of Post Graduate students in sensitizing school children and develops the onus of contributing to the community at a young age. Children also become agents of change by spreading what they have learnt in school to their family and community members. Hence, “Nourish Young Minds” has been a small step in building a healthy world.
