5th Grade Moving On
Ute’s 5th graders celebrated their continuation on May 22nd. For many students they have spent the last 5 or 6 years at Ute Meadows, changing from little kindergartners to tweens. During this time they have learned the 3 Rs, had fun in specials and made many new friends. We would like to congratulate these students and wish them luck in their next educational adventure. Also, we would like to thank the 5 th grade teachers, Mr. Nestingen, Ms. Beauchamp and Ms. Knight for teaching us this year and helping to plan the continuation celebration.

Grade Level Grants – When special requests for funding are made the PTA will do what is
possible within the budget to assist. For example, a request was made by 4 th grade to purchase
enough Colorado history books for a complete set in each classroom. They used pilot books,

The PTA approved and funded this purchase of $1200.

Teacher Classroom Fund ($150 per teacher to spend on what they need)
Technology – Kindergarten iPads & Chromebooks – 10 iPads and cases; 10 Chromebooks

ALP and IEP across all grade levels
Hospitality – annual Teacher Appreciation Week, a group of parents bring breakfast and lunch

Lexia & Discover Streaming - specialized education platform used by teachers, the learning
center and reading recovery to support students http://www.lexiacore5.com/
School Requests – When the budget allows for non standard expense requests the PTA can
help fill some of those requests. Last year we finished replacing all of the chalk boards with

Message from our Area Nurse
We encourage parents to get immunizations taken care of over the summer, which is a good time to get routine physicals and doctors appointments done. If parents have any questions about what their students are missing, they can contact the health room. If parents are going to exempt their child from immunizations, they'll need to resign the exemption form at the start of the 2018-19 school year.
