Bodaboda Festival
BODABODA RIDERS GATHERING Motorcycle (two-wheeler) market in Africa will more than double, from
$4 billion in 2015 to more than $9 billion in 2021. In year 2016 Tanzania was the biggest motorcycle market in the region
and has about one million registered boda bodas. Uganda has about 200,000 and Kenya at 700,000.
It is estimated there are about 1,500,000 motorcycles in Tanzania (TechSci report, 2016).
Bodaboda Festival aims to engage with 10% of the BodabodaCommunity in sixteen (16) regions in three thematic areas:
• 1. REGISTRATION – Database establishment with details of the Bodabodariders.
• 2. SAFETY – Instill the duty to safety born by the riders to themselves and their community .
• 3. BUSINESS/ENTREPRENEURSHIP – Create access to business development products and services .

Goals & Objectives
• This Festival aims to achieve the following five (5) goals:
1. Create Business Linkages: motorbike and spare-parts suppliers, fuel, service, transport i.e uber/bolt/exicab,
financial services i.e banking, insurance & pension
2. Foster Entrepreneurship Explore various economic opportunities surrounding the Bodaboda riders community
3. Health awareness
HIV/AIDS, NCDs and other diseases education, blood donation
4. Road safety & Community security Support safety and security efforts through development of a database
5. Sports & Entertainment: football, music and networking

Visit Bodaboda stations with a team, branded vehicle and PA to be visible and catch attention of the BodabodaRiders & the public.
Engage/interact with Bodaboda riders at different places and detail them about the Festival message.We shall do HT(High Traffics), SV(Station Visits) and GT(General Trade). Part of the team will undertake registration of the BodabodaRiders to build the database.
Facilitate sales to Bodaboda Riders and the Public after they have been detailed and demonstrated about the product.
Demonstration of the product features to the Bodaboda Riders and the public in order to create appreciation of the Festival.
Exhibition, Entertainment & Sports event will mark the peak of the Festival giving participants opportunity to relax and network.

• In the 5 days of the week we will visit bodaboda stations in the region and engage them in their work areas
•PA car will be going around town promoting the festival and associated products & services in high traffic areas

•One day before the Festival (Friday) a regional seminar for Bodaboda will be conducted
