INTRODUCTION
Without Elsteel Motor Vision
You are the manager of a cooling plant. It is 2 AM and you area sleep. The compressor has stopped due to a power failure and 100,000 litres of vanilla ice cream has started to melt. Next morning when you come to work you would have to start throwing out the entire stock and calculate your loss.
With Elsteel Motor Vision
At 2 AM you receive an SMS on your mobile saying “compressor stopped”. You send a reply SMS giving an “ON” command to the compressor start-er. The motor starter in the “Techno” board starts the compressor and sends you a confi rmation SMS “Compressor ON” along with the critical parameters such as the temperature of the ice cream.

ELSTEEL Motor Vision comes along with a powerful software package that of-fers enhanced solutions to the end user. The Communication stack fi gure shows all the options available from the physical device network to the user with new industrial tech-nologies like OPC along with the popular/economical industrial communication system (Modbus). Converters are available to convert modbus to anybus.
1. Modbus OPC server
The OPC (Object Linking & Embedding for Process Con-trol) is the latest technology used to communicate between the computing world and the fi eld device. The OPC server acts as a communication agent between your application software and the fi eld devices.
2. SCADA System
SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) sys-tem allows you to visualize the plant / process on your desktop conveniently. With the fl exibility of these components you can simply integrate your OPC compatible SCADA system with EL-STEEL Motor Vision.
3. ELSTEEL Message Suite It provides a powerful way of handling messages through SMS. This system is fully compatible with OPC specifi cations and can be used to communicate with OPC data using its own internal OPC data access mechanism. With these fl exible features you can setup your own SMS format over the communication chan-nels.
