2017 Clinic Schedule
Pre-Fishing Derby: Instructor: Gary Ginter - Semi-Pro Fisherman June 20th & 21st, 2017 at Tawawa Lake at Tawawa Park 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. - Grades K-8 Participants need to bring fi shing poles. Participants will learn basic ways to cast, pitch and fl ip fi shing poles; use of basic types of lures versus live bait; basic ways to increase their fi sh catching ability and to tie a good knot. Also, Gary will be displaying his fi shing boat that he uses during his fi shing competition. Come and learn how to prop-erly fi sh. Gary’s sponsors are Phoenix Boats, Strike King Lures and Cast-a-way Rod. Must pre-register by June 15th, 2017.
Fishing Derby: Sponsored by: Dr. Alvetro’s Office Instructor: Parks & Recreation Dept. June 22nd at Tawawa Lake in Tawawa Park 9:00 am Check-in 9:15 am Derby Begins 10:15 am Derby Ends K-8Participants should bring their own fi shing tackle, pole, bait and bucket. Summer Backpack Program
Who is eligible: Every child attending the summer food program. Friday, June 9th thru Friday, August 11th, 2017 Ages: 1-18
Every Friday children will be provided with weekend meals.The packs come fi lled with nutritious, easy-to-open food that does not require stove-top cooking or refrigeration. The typical pack contains a variety of food usually including protein, fruit juices, cereal, granola bars and pudding cups.

will be stories and some group activities.

Checking Out The Creek: Instructor: Lynda Adams with Soil & Water Conservation July 6th at Tawawa Park at the creek. Meet at Geib Pavilion. K-3 1:30 - 2:30 pm 4-8 2:30 - 3:30 pmParticipants MUST wear tennis shoes or shoes that strap on their feet. NO FLIP FLOPS. Participants will be wading in the water and using nets to try and catch living organisms living in the water. Be prepared to get wet. Must pre-register by July 1st 2017.

Learn about different types of animals, plants, trees, etc., that live
and grow in Tawawa Park. Ranger Aselage will have pictures of
the different types of animals, plants, and trees. The Ranger will be
happy to answer any questions about the park as well.
Need to pre-register by July 5th, 2017.
Books and Game SwapInstructors: Parks and Recreation Dept.Do you have video games, books, or CD’s that are in good condition but you don’t use them anymore? This clinic will give you an opportunity to exchange those used items for different ones at no charge. You provide the old sheet and we will provide the arts and craft supplies and let your imagination do the rest. Be sure to wear old clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Walk in the Park Instructors: Parks and Recreation Dept.Takes steps to get fi t while exploring nature in our beautiful Tawawa Park. Kids will explore different trails. Meet at Geib Pavilion in Tawawa Park. Please be sure that kids wear comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Kids will walk between 1-2 miles per session. Every Monday and Wednesday from July 3rd through July 19th Grades: K-8 9:30-10:15 a.m. Geib Pavilion at Tawawa ParkMust pre-register by July 1st, 2017.
KIDS IN MOTIONInstructors: Parks and Recreation Dept. Get children moving by introducing them to physical activity in a fun, non-competitive environment. This clinic will include organized sports, games, fi tness demos, and guided walks. Every Tuesday & Thursday from July 11th through July 20th, 2017. at 11:00 a.m. Included in the 30-45 minute session
will be stories and some group activities.
No registration is necessary.

2017 Clinic Schedule
Pre-Fishing Derby: Instructor: Gary Ginter - Semi-Pro Fisherman June 20th & 21st, 2017 at Tawawa Lake at Tawawa Park 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. - Grades K-8 Participants need to bring fi shing poles. Participants will learn basic ways to cast, pitch and fl ip fi shing poles; use of basic types of lures versus live bait; basic ways to increase their fi sh catching ability and to tie a good knot. Also, Gary will be displaying his fi shing boat that he uses during his fi shing competition. Come and learn how to prop-erly fi sh. Gary’s sponsors are Phoenix Boats, Strike King Lures and Cast-a-way Rod. Must pre-register by June 15th, 2017.
Fishing Derby: Sponsored by: Dr. Alvetro’s Office Instructor: Parks & Recreation Dept. June 22nd at Tawawa Lake in Tawawa Park 9:00 am Check-in 9:15 am Derby Begins 10:15 am Derby Ends K-8Participants should bring their own fi shing tackle, pole, bait and bucket. Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1. Most Fish; 2. Biggest Fish; 3. Smallest Fish; Must Pre-register by June 15th, 2017.

Summer Backpack Program
Who is eligible: Every child attending the summer food program. Friday, June 9th thru Friday, August 11th, 2017 Ages: 1-18
Every Friday children will be provided with weekend meals.The packs come fi lled with nutritious, easy-to-open food that does not require stove-top cooking or refrigeration. The typical pack contains a variety of food usually including protein, fruit juices, cereal, granola bars and pudding cups.
