What is motor development?
Change in children's ability to control their body’s movements.-From infants first spontaneous waving and kicking movements-To control of reaching, locomotion, and complex sports skills.
Motor development influenced by:-Environment-Social development-Child’s Interest in exploration
Gradually gaining control over large and small muscles.
Co-ordinationco-ordinate large and small musclesUse senses- sight, sound, and touch

Fine-motor Skills
Fine-motor skills involve small muscle movements such as cutting with scissors and writing with a pen or pencil.
Gross-motor Skills
Gross-motor skills involve large muscle movements such as crawling, walking and jumping.
