grandpas, uncles, and special guys to

part icipate in our 2020

Daddy/Daughter Dance. Girls need to

know they are special; show them by

spending t ime with them, doing their

favorite thing... dance! This

performance opportunity has been

extended every other year since 2008,

and it is a definite crowd favorite at

our recital. Dancers in Kinder classes

and older are welcome to part icipate.

Rehearsals will take place most ly on

Saturday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30

beginning February 22nd. The cost is

$85 for the couple. The price includes

the class and a $25 voucher for a

recital t icket . Dads must register

prior to the first pract ice in person at

the front desk. Pract ice Schedule

w il l be given out at t he f ir st

rehearsal.

Online pract ice links will be sent and

some weekday opt ions may be added

if needed.

Our annual MCDF Pistons Game will

take place on Saturday March 7th at

the Lit t le Caesars Arena to see the

Detroit Pistons take on the Utah

Jazz! Come see our dancers perform

before t ip off, and then hang out with

MCDF family to watch the game in

the lower Gondola which is reserved

exclusively for MCDF. Tickets are

only $35.00 and t icket order deadline

has been extended to February 8th.

MCDF GAME DAY #GIRLDADS...LET'S DANCE

Michael Smith is a native Detroiter who was born to dance. From imitating Michael Jackson moves as a toddler to studying dance in high school and

college, dancing has always been a key part of his life. Reflecting on his teen years, growing up on the eastside of Detroit, Michael believes that dancing, specifically the Jit, saved his life by keeping him and his friends off of the streets and out of trouble. Michael majored in Dance at the Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts. Fun fact: Mr. Mike's dance teacher at DSA was Ms. Johnson (better known around MCDF as Ms. Camille). He went on to study business at Wayne State University. He performed extensively at school and in the community. He even choreographed a video for Micahel Bivens' group, Biv 10. After taking a hiatus from dance,

Michael felt the pull to return to his craft. Actually, it was more of a calling than a pull. He acknowledges that God gifted him to dance, and he wants to share this gift with others. Out of this calling, Jit Masters was born. Jit Masters, a movement designed to make the Detroit Jit known worldwide, consists of an experienced dance crew, private one-on-one lessons, dance workshops and more. Just recently, Jit Masters auditioned for America's Got Talent for the third time! Their perseverance has paid off because they received many accolades and an invitation to the second round of auditions! Motor City Dance Factory is extremely proud to be the home of Jit Masters. Classes are available Saturdays and Sunday for all ages!

All dance costumes have been ordered and most gymnastics costumes! Now the fun part...shipments are arriving, and some we are expecting as late as April 24th! We will keep you posted regarding distribution of costumes for pictures. Just remember that your account (including tuition and fees) must be current to receive costumes.

Most costumes can be viewed through your Parent Portal (not the APP). We will also send out an electronic file with all of the costumes as well as tights and shoe requirements.

As a rule of thumb, all girls for dance and gymnastics will need Body Wrappers Brand Suntan tights (sold at MCDF $10 child sizes / $12 adult sizes).

ALL dancers who are taking Ballet ALL ages and levels (including Creative Movement, Kinderdance, and Fundamentals) must purchase the Capezio Hanami Shoe in LIGHT SUNTAN. The shoe is $23.50 at www.discountdance.com or they can be purchased at Dance World on Middlebelt in Livonia. If ordering online, please use our code #TP80556 for a discount on your purchase. Details for all other shoes for Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop will be on the file that you receive.
