Managers generally complain for the lackof motivation of employees at work!
For many of us motivation is either thereor not!
Hence all behavior and performanceproblems somehow are referred to asmanifestations of motivation inadequacy!

Motivation is a self-rationalization to act ornot to act in a situation, whichever isconsistent to the given personal motives orinterests (needs in particular)
Behaviors ignited merely by motivation canhave different manifestations, namely; Rational Type

Fence-sitter Type

Motivation is caused by satisfaction andcontentment
Satisfaction is a function of motives one carries inlife. Greater the motives lower will be thesatisfaction perceived, as achievements wouldalways be shadowed by unfulfilled motives
Contentment is a function of perceived value ofachievement. An attitude of cherishing even smallachievements increases contentment
