When people are not motivated with their job search, they have less energy, are more likely to resist change, and are less likely to take that extra step.
Lack of motivation is often caused by frustration and feelings of powerlessness – even if people have the power in reality, if they do not see themselves as having it, motivation can be lacking. People must feel that they control their own destiny.
Networking•Use the holidays
to your advantage.•Everyone that you
talk to should know that you are looking for a job and also what type of job you are looking for.
Networking (continued)• Don’t pass up attending
those holiday social events.▫ Accept all the
invitations you receive.• The holiday season is a
good excuse to touch base and a good time to expand your network.
• Send holiday cards▫ Sending a greeting card
to networking contacts, recruiters and employers you have interviewed with is a good way to connect with those who can help with your job search.

Did you know…?•In most employment surveys,
ATTITUDE is listed as a top concern by employers.
Attitude?•“I thought it was all about meeting the
qualifications?”▫Here’s the scoop: Employers would
rather hire someone with a good attitude and teach him/her the skills needed, than hire someone who has the skills but also has a bad attitude.
▫It’s easier to teach the skills necessary to perform the job duties than to change an attitude.
Did you know…?• People receive
negative feedback and advice more than 25,000 times during their lives!
• “At the beginning of every task is an attitude!” And remember…nothing gets done until you get up!

Identifying Your StrengthsThese are the 6 areas of the Wheel of
Success. Just like a car tire, the Wheel of Success does not work if there is a hole in it. It takes only one hole in your wheel to not get hired. For the wheel to work, you must “patch up” the holes and fill them
with more air.Eliminate and Remove any concerns from
prospective employers’ minds!
