PRESS RELEASE 2013 ermila motion: the next generation of advanced clippers Wahl has developed a revolutionary clipper with a removable scissor handle for optimum han-dling characteristics. A perfect symbiosis of innovative design, improved function and an attractive appearance – all these qualities merge in the new ermila motion clipper from Wahl. Its unique scissor handle (also known as the scissors eye) allows hairdressers to exploit creative options, achieve pre-cision cutting results and work with minimum joint stress. Everything about the ermila motion is Made in Germany, from the original concept and development right through to production. As a clipper which can be handled like scissors, ermila motion signals the dawn of a new era. Its re-movable scissor handle is an outstanding feature of the new professional appliance in terms of ergo-nomics and design and enables precision cutting of every hair length. The lightweight clipper weighs only 270 grams which, while making handling easier, also relieves stress on joints. "The scissors han-dle is ingenious. I can part hair at the same time while working without putting down the machine. In-stead, I simply rest it on the back of my hand", says Angelo Atria, a salon proprietor in Balingen (Ger-many) who has already been won over by the new clipper in a test phase. Positive field test Approximately 60 hairdressing salons have tested the ermila motion prior to market launch. Their feedback confirms that Wahl, one of the world's leading manufacturers of professional hairstyling ap-pliances, has really hit the mark with its innovative and sophisticated new clipper. "The machine can be held securely and comfortably in your hand, thanks to the scissors handle and curved casing. I'm totally free to express my creativity to the full", says Bianca Kaltenbach from Salon Füchter in Furtwangen (Germany). The appliance is extremely versatile as a result, regardless of whether mod-ern styling, short haircuts or soft, long hairstyles for ladies are involved. Sinan Bayrakcioglu, a stylist from Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany), is particularly impressed by the flexibility of the new product, as it means that every staff member in his salon can personally customize his or her appliance – with or without the scissor handle. Design and function go hand in hand The clipper has become an indispensable tool for many hairdressers. "We wanted to go a step further with the ermila motion and focused on ergonomic design and functionality", explains Susanne Colli from Wahl GmbH, Germany. The appliance combines the know-how and over 60 years of experience of the traditional Black Forest enterprise with innovative and functional design contributions from Pforzheim University, whose designer Carin Collé has accompanied development of the ermila motion from the design phase right through initial modeling to market maturity. The young designer has also been involved in the marketing campaign. "We're all absolutely thrilled with the new product and the fresh, youthful campaign designed to promote the ermila motion", says Product Manager Susanne Colli. A modernized internet presence and redesigned packaging for the ermila brand are also part of the new image. Technology that thrills – a long battery life and improved blade set Further highlights of the new ermila motion include the improved Magic Blade II blade set for optimized hair guidance and durable lithium-ion batteries for rapid recharging. The appliance has a battery life of 90 minutes and can be charged again in only 45 minutes. A battery display integrated in the switch indicates the current battery charge using a traffic light system. Wahl has also developed the ideal contour machine with the ermila motion nano, another eye-catching appliance with a rapid charging function and two-way operating mode. Both appliances are constantly at hand and ready for use on the universal and compact charging stand, ensuring continuous operational readiness and perfect cutting power.
