MOTION – APPEAR AMICI CURIAE

The Oregon Republican Party hereby seeks leave, pursuant to Rule

8.15 of the Rules of Appellate Procedure, to appear as amicus curiae in the

above-captioned case.

The Oregon Republican Party is major political party within the

meaning of ORS Chapter 248, and holds the powers thereof as specified in

ORS 248.004 and otherwise. The Oregon Republican Party does not seek to

vindicate any interest in which particular faction of the Libertarian Party of

Oregon is identified by the Secretary of State to appear on Oregon ballots, but

seeks to present its own private interest, and the public interest, in securing

judicial review of conduct by party officials assertedly in violation of a party’s

governing documents.

A proposed brief amicus curiae is filed herewith.
