SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
Dear Friends, In today’s Gospel, Jesus commissions the disciples, sending them out as His Father had sent Him. We see the fruits of their work in the first reading. It was Peter’s faith in Jesus that enabled him to work signs and wonders. The sick are cured, demons are driven out, sins are forgiven, great numbers come to believe. Our Church can be traced all the way back to this early band of believers, impelled out of a locked room and into the streets of Jerusalem. Given the fact that these signs and wonders are a result of faith and the Holy Spirit, what have we been impelled to do to ‘give thanks to the Lord for His Goodness to us?’
May God bless you, on this Divine Mercy Sunday, with His Heart, inflamed with love for you and your family, Father Cioppi

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT IT HAS BEEN 5
YEARS SINCE OUR LAST PARISH PHOTO
DIRECTORY?!
T h e p h o t o
directory is an
invaluable tool
for parishioners,
clergy and parish
staff alike. It
helps us to put names to the faces we see
around us every week. It is also a great
way to see the changes in your family over
the past 5 years.
Our last photography event ran seamlessly
with the help of a great group of
volunteers. Once again as we prepare to
produce our 2020 directory, we are seeking
willing hearts and hands to help us
successfully launch our upcoming event.
If you would like to donate a couple hours
of your time and talent for this project, we
would like to speak with you!
We will be opening up the first
photography sessions on June 25th through
the 29th, but we need our Committee in
place long before these dates. In fact, we
are planning an organizational meeting for
an evening in May.
Please call or e-mail Susan Dugary in the
Parish Office to discuss our plans. Susan
can be reached at [email protected]
or by phone at 610-265-4178.
We are happy to welcome our newest parishioners to the parish. It is our hope that you find our parish community to be warm. We are happy that you have found a home here with us!

Don't forget! Our prayer shawls and lap rugs are free to all. If the Spirit moves you to take one for a friend or relation, then please do! It is a blessing to give as well as to receive!
As always, we are humbled by your generous donations. Your intentions are in our prayers!
Any questions call Sr. Veronica Gross.
SPIRITUAL BOUQUETS
Spiritual Bouquets are
available at the doors of the
church to help you honor
your Mother, Grandmother,
Aunt, Sister or Wife.
Please use the small return
envelope if you do not need
a card for gift giving. We
ask that you return the
completed dedication
envelope to the Parish
Offices by May 4th, so that
it can be included with the
other remembrances at the
Blessed Mother’s altar on
Mother’s Day weekend.

CHOOSE LIFE LICENSE PLATES The volume of unexpected and often unwanted pregnancies in this country has been a continuous problem for years. A recent
national survey of teenage girls reported that 82% believe their unmarried peers should offer their babies for adoption if they don't feel they can handle raising a child. Such a decision can be not only difficult, but expensive. In Pennsylvania, we are fortunate to have the Choose Life license plate available which gives us an opportunity to help provide much needed financial assistance to pregnant mothers who decide to have their babies.
The financial costs associated with a full term pregnancy are often too extreme for some women to bear. Many non-profit organizations and volunteers across the state offer assistance to these women in their time of need. If a woman chooses to bring a child into this world and offers her baby for adoption, she deserves all of the assistance and caring we can provide.
The majority of revenues generated by the Choose Life plates serve two easily identifiable needs in PA. Foremost, it provides much needed revenue to continue assistance to pregnant women who are planning to offer their child for adoption, and it provides financial assistance to agencies involved in the adoption and counseling efforts.
Please consider supporting life by displaying your Choose Life plate. You can apply at any time of the year, regardless of your renewal date. The cost is $52 which includes the state license plate fee of $32 and a $20 donation to PA Choose Life. You can access additional information at www.pachoose-life.org or call (610) 222-4530 for assistance.

PREP KID’S CORNER (TOP SECRET, NO PARENTS ALLOWED!)
This Week’s Memo: Jesus Gives us Divine Mercy, Alleluia!!!!! Alleluia! Today, the first Sunday after Easter, is Divine Mercy Sunday. Today is a special feast day as we celebrate the forgiveness and mercy that Jesus won for us through His death and resurrection. Imagine that you asked Jesus, “why did you have to die for me?” He would reply, “so that you could receive my Divine Mercy and be forgiven from your sins!” This week with your family, stop by the Divine Mercy image in the back of Church, and pray the prayer, “Jesus, I trust in you!” For extra credit, have your parents look up the “Divine Mercy Chaplet” on the internet and pray it together as a family! Liturgical Trivia Why does Father spray us with Holy Water during the Easter season? (Is it because we forgot to shower?) Last week’s answer: If you said Alleluia, you’re right! During Lent, we don’t use the word Alleluia, because it is a word that means Praise the Lord! It is a joyful word and during Lent, we focus on sacrifice and penance, so we “fast” from saying Alleluia, so by the time Easter comes, we CAN’T WAIT to shout ALLELUIA!
