Book: Listen to Me, by Jerry and (son) Lee Jampolski. “We believe what kept us moving so fast was our old fears that had been hidden inside of us since we were little children. Like us, many men have lost all soul awareness. It has been replaced with the need to achieve, succeed, compete, and conquer. Eventually we abandoned our-selves and our soul in an attempt to be accepted. As men we need to return to our soul.” (P.111.) Book:

Personal Attachment Styles. Four main styles have been identi-fied. Gain a clearer concept of self for personal understanding. 1 A secure attachment style is those possessing a positive view of self and a positive view of others; 2. An anxious-preoccupied at-tachment style is those possessing a negative view of self and a posi-tive view of others; 3. A dismissive-avoidant attach-ment style by those possessing a positive view of self and a negative view of others; 4. A fearful-avoidant attachment style is those possessing an unsta-ble fluctuating/confused view of self and others. Full detail: bit.ly/2q6w6Rp

We need to think about how to help our sons and other young men grow into good men. Anon.

Fear of abandonment and compul-sive behaviours. “A fear of abandonment is thought to stem from childhood loss or trauma. It is arguably one of the most common and most damaging fears of all. People with fear of abandonment tend to dis-play compulsive behaviors and thought patterns that affect their relationships, ultimately resulting in the abandonment they dread becoming a reality. This fear can be devastating and result in stay-ing in a bad situation far too long. Understanding it is the first step toward resolving the issue.” More: bit.ly/2KbW4tM

Statement about our boys. “I think society and the Education System would do well to provide some focus and training for young people - especially boys becoming men, in how to connect with socie-ty and community, how to volun-teer in their local community and for the community to provide practical skills in helping others, rescue, first aid. It should be a whole mandatory subject in Year 11 and 12”. (Alan Raby, Tasmania Men.)

Very special interview: Video about “Family” Court? Bettina Arndt talks to Ezequiel Trumper about how false allega-tions are the weapon of choice for women aiming to destroy their ex-partners and achieve parental alienation. "Its pretty disturbing how many men are are loosing out, having reputa-tions damaged by a systematic failure in the family law sys-tem. Its time for men to stand up on this" Play the video: bit.ly/35arrNK

How effective is marriage coun-selling? A topic that would be of interest to many. Check websites: bit.ly/33vK7Hn “Poorly trained counsellors doing more harm than good”: ab.co/2JVDrdL “Relationship counselling fails more than one in four couples, with those experiencing the greatest distress the least likely to benefit from professional help, says Australian Institute of Fami-ly Studies.” To sum-up: “It is often hard to relate to someone you have never met and don’t know very well.” (Anon.)

Book: Fire in the Belly (On being a man), by Sam Keen. “Woman, as the mother, continues to have enormous power over our adult lives because her most important les-sons are taught wordlessly. She shapes us before we understand language, and therefore her influence is hidden from our adult consciousness. Her instruc-tions remain within us like posthyp-notic suggestion. In the degree that Mother remains a shadow presence in the life of a man, he will see himself and all women as if reflected in Moth-er’s eyes. He will perform for them as he performed for her, fearing displeas-ure, courting approval. Almost inevita-bly, men marry Mother unless they have undertaken the long struggle to recognise and exorcise WOMAN from their psyches.” (Page 19.) (I recommend this honest book about being a man. Ed.)

Australian drought and bushfires 2019. “Bushfire risk was exacer-bated by record break-ing drought, very dry fuels and soils, and record breaking heat. Bushfire conditions are now more dangerous than in the past. The risks to people and property have increased and fire seasons have lengthened. It is becoming more dangerous to fight fires in Australia.” Lot more: bit.ly/2CPa351
