QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Since the love of God has been poured out into my heart
through the Holy Spirit, what can I do to share that love with others? How can I chal-
lenge myself to be more selfless and generous?
Wisdom is personified in quite an intimate and innocent way by the author of Prov-
erbs in the first reading: “I was (God’s) delight day by day, playing before (God) all
the while, playing on the surface of (God’s) earth; and I found delight in the human
race” (Proverbs 8:30-31). This is not the picture normally painted of God in the Old
Testament. That a wonderful way to imagine God, having created the heavens and
earth and everything in them, delighting in all this handiwork. May we do the same.
God is love. It is one of the first lessons we learn about God, and one of the simplest
to understand. (Certainly much easier than three persons in one God.) But love only
makes sense in a relationship with someone else. A mother loves her child, a hus-
band loves his wife, two good friends love each other. Father, Son and Holy Spirit
love each other with an unparalleled love, a perfect love. It is love that is ever-
generous, ever-selfless. It is the love that brought God to create the human race,
that brought Jesus to redeem the human race, that brought the Holy Spirit to sancti-
fy the human race, through God’s very presence in us. They are the very model of
love for us: a lasting commitment to someone else.
Saint Paul admits that not everything is rosy in our world. We are beset with afflic-
tions. But our sufferings are not the end. Our sufferings build endurance, our endur-
ance builds character, and our character leads to hope, and hope will always last. In
his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul asserts that faith, hope, and love remain. In
this reading, he mentions all three virtues as well, and each traces its origin to the
Trinity.

BECOMING THE BEST DISCIPLE:
The quote for this week that also appears on the
whiteboard in the entry of the church is:
“A smile is a light
in the window of your soul.”
Take time this week to sit quietly, or perhaps as you
drive to your destination, to reflect on that question.
REMEMBER TO LISTEN FOR GOD’S RESPONSE.
ST. PATRICK’S: 1st FRIDAY OF THE MONTH 5:30-7:00 p.m.
HOLY TRINITY: 2nd FRIDAY OF THE MONTH 5:30-7:00 p.m.
God blesses us all with different talents and gifts. Have you been gifted with musical ability? The St. Patrick’s Music Ministry team has lost several members recently and needs your help. Please contact one of them or Father David
for how you can become involved. Thank you!
St. Patrick’s is in need of new chasu-
bles [one for each parish]. If anyone is
willing to support the purchase of new
ones can send donations to the church
or place in the offertory labeled accord-
ingly. They range in price from $100-
250. Thank you!
CARING AND SHARING is in need
of volunteers from our church.
They would like to have four to five
members from our parish to help.
A meeting is held once a month on
the first Wednesday of the month
and after that you would be needed occasionally for a
couple hours on a Tuesday afternoon to help organize
and distribute clothes, houseware items and food.
Please contact Yvonne Wittrock (our only representa-
tive at this time) or Maxine Klein and Ruth Ann Bock
(our outgoing members) for more information on this
very rewarding service. THANK YOU Maxine and Ruth
Ann for your time representing our parish!!

Indianapolis, IN
‘Colt Stadium’
You are eligible to register for this amazing conference if
you will be in high school in the fall of 2019. Deadlines are
approaching fast (June 20). If you are interested, please
contact Jennifer. In the past, there has been enough money
to cover the majority of the travel and registration costs.
This year’s Thursday headliner is For King & Country: one of
the leading Christian Rock groups. More information to
come. Please contact Jennifer ASAP!
4th of July Paddle Wheel Planning: Holy Trinity ARS mem-
bers, this is a reminder to
make purchases or dona-
tions for paddle wheel for
the 4th of July. Watch for
sign up sheets to work at
the back of church.
New 2019-2020 mem-
bership booklets are ready at the back of the church as
well. Please pick up your copy and remember to sign
your name if you’ve given your donation to as officer as
well as brought your crafts in. Thank you!!
We would like to invite you
to join our Usher Team!
We have divided the men
into three teams which
means in a year’s time we
would be asking you to ush-
er four times. During your
assigned month we would
ask that you sign yourself up for a Saturday or Sunday
Mass (so we don’t need to just assign you) in the en-
trance of the church. We feel this would be better than
assigning you to a day you may have planned to attend
Mass the other day of the weekend. Thank you so
much for helping us resolve our usher scheduling issue.
A reminder list will be published in the bulletin to help
you remember hen your team is on duty. We would
also like to invite your spouse to help you before Mass
be greeter to our parish.
Please sign up before the last Wednesday of the month
so the office knows the schedule to print.
PRAY FOR THEIR SERVICE: Several of our members and relatives of
members are currently serving in the military.
Please pray for them and their families. We
pray for their safety and when on a mission,
their quick return home to family and friends.

CORPUS CHRISTI COUNCIL Minutes— May 13, 2019 The CCC mtg was held on May 13, 2019 with Father David, Bob B.,
Jean M., and Alice L. present. The meeting was called to order by
Father David at 7 p.m. Father David suggested Bob B. chairperson
and Alice L. secretary the group agreed.
Discussions was held on the number of members to have on the
council and it was decided three members from each parish was
sufficient and we are in need of one more member from Exira. Mem-
bers as of now are Scott Hansen, Jean Madsen, Joe Rasmussen
whose terms will expire 9/2022. Bob B., Alice L. Lynda B. whose
terms will expire 9-2022. It was decided to have our meetings every
other month starting in June to August as Father will be gone in July.
Father David updated us on the painting project at St. Patrick’s. The
documentation has been done, money has been raised and Bishop
Pates has given his permission to continue with our project. Father
said all obstacles have been resolved and the project is good to go.
The next step will be to let the contractors know we are ready for a
date to be set on the start date of painting.
Pentecost Novena has been set for the nine days prior to Pentecost
there will be extra prayers said before the daily masses each day.
Father would still like to have home masses. He wants to have peo-
ple invite others into their home and let Father have mass. He has
had them on Thursday nights in the past but would be open to sug-
gestions when you would like to have it. Rural masses were also
brought up and Father would be open to this also. The group spent
much time talking on in-house retreats for all parishioners. We
would like to boost morale and bring the congregation together for
fellowship and interesting speakers. Some of the ideas tossed
around were having a Lenten retreat and an Advent retreat and may-
be a couple between these two times. Sunday evenings were
thought to be the best night to hold these events and keep it to an
hour or so. Different ideas brought up included Father doing a pro-
gram on Ghana and his culture ways of doing things, how members
of our parish came to conversion into the church, military members
sharing their experiences, someone who has worked with drug addi-
tion, just to mention a few. The group tentatively has set Sunday
August 11 as our kick off program, and in September wanting to
hold a rural mass. Stay tuned for upcoming details. Father would
also like to see maybe in the future having a women’s, men’s, and
teen retreat.
Father David would like to visit all parishioners so he can get to
know us better. He would like to visit people who have stopped com-
ing to church and find out why they have stopped. He would like
someone to come along with him to show him where people live. We
discussed how often Father visits the Care Center and the Friend-
ship Home, he has mass at each location once a month and visits
once in awhile. We will help Father visit them to acquaint him with
where they live.
Father said there is a Holy Land trip being planned for May 2020 out
of Omaha. The parishioners from Avoca, Neola are attending and he
would like to see a few of Audubon people join. He said it is a very
wonderful trip.
Organizational reports are also welcomed at this meeting so if help
is needed from us it can be addressed. Administration report also
needed for Father to be able to ask our help if he has a problem that
needs resolved.
Next meeting, June 11. Bob will do the agenda and Father will add to
it what he needs. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. Father lead us in
closing prayer.
