Red Glass HouseFall 2014

A collaborative design with the intent of connecting the community through a series of artistic workshops housed together with the artists in rowhomes. Circulation allows for a separation between private and public spaces. Once a year anyone can come off the street and move through the interlaced public spaces from one end of houses through 20 different workshops without stepping foot outside. The first in the extensive series of homes is the Red Glass House. Home to a glassblowing couple that works with hot glass that glows bright to illuminate the workshop space.

Transparent stairs allow light to penetrate the shared public/private space while diffusing light from the south facing facade with transluscent glass to prevent glare into the workshop in the back of the house as while still allowing patrons to view the process of glassblowing.

Turning Library Spring 2015

A celebratory library design focusing on the act of reading and sustainable building. The atrium stretches up to allow users to view others entering, exiting, reading, and browsing through the collection of books on all floors. This visual connection links readers in the act and love of reading and solidifying the buildings’ relevance as a public space for gathering as opposed to downloading and reading texts in the home.

Two paths dictate how fast or slow travel occurs. The long sloping ramp provides a leisurely path of travel while the three cubes offer a faster and more scenic path, taking you higher and inbetween the cast concrete walls viewing art in various ways.

It utilizes the heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic to fill and populate the neighborhood by investing in the artistic urban potential hidden there. The master plan design intends to reintroduce the viaduct into the urban fabric by turning it into a linear park.

Introduction to Glass art project that takes an assortment of hot blown glass roses and arranges them in a way that represents the cycle of life as water flows from one rose to the next. Through the stems of the flower above and below. Besides the provided glass other materials were all recycled: coloring from other glass products such as beer bottles, broken cups and broken mirrors as well.
