2. More and MightierExodus 1:7-10
The Pharaoh of Egypt said of Israel They are more and mightier than we!
Deal wisely with them lest they multiply.
They are more and mightier than we.
If it comes to pass that there is a war,
They will join our enemies and fight us sore.
Set the task * mas * ters over them.
They are more and mightier than we.
But the more afflicted – the more they grew,
Multiplying, increasing, fruitful too.
And the land * was * filled with them –
They are more and mightier than we! ** And the land * was * filled with them –
They are more and mightier than we! **
(Can be sung to: To The Bravest)

3. Four Hundred YearsExodus 1:11-14
Four hundred years!
Slaves in Egypt, four hundred years! Bitter bondage, building treasure cities,
Pithom and Ramses.
Four hundred years!
Slaves in Egypt, four hundred years! Hot sun, hot fields, making brincks and mortar
Made to serve with rigor (bom bom bom)
Four hundred years! Slaves in Egypt, four hundred years!
Cruel taskmasters, forcing us to labor
O Lord, send us a savior! O Lord, send us a savior!
Send a savior, send a savior, Send a savior, send a savior, SEND ONE NOOOW!!!
(Can be sung to: March Slav)

4 The Midwives Feared JehovahExodus 1:15-21
To the midwives of the Hebrews
Pharaoh gave this command:
If it is a son, do away with him;
If a daughter, she shall live then.
But, the midwives feared Jehovah–
And did not as Pharaoh bid!
Therefore God dealt well with the midwives,
And the Hebrews multiplied.
For the midwives feared Jehovah– And did not as Pharaoh bid!

6. Oh, Lord! Care for My BrotherExodus 2:3-10(Miriam’s Song)
1. I’m hiding here among tall reeds,
I’m watching o’er my brother.
Safe in an ark of pitch and weed
Prepared by my dear mother.
I want to see what happens now;
He’s precious to my family,
I’ll do my best, I’m standing guard;
I’m watching him so caref’ly
Chorus: (sing twice)
O----Oh round and round and up and down
The ark floats on the river.
When Pharaoh’s daughter comes to bathe,
We hope — she’ll him deliver!

He will be a dear son to me!

This little girl can find a nurse To feed the baby for me.
Yes, she’ll get wages from my purse,
I’ll gladly pay a good fee.

And little girl, do love him, too;
Like he’s your baby brother!

8. You Must Ne’er ForgetExodus 2:9
(Jocabed’s Song to Moses)
You must ne’er forget
That God has chosen you,
A goodly Hebrew child.

God has promised us the land of Canaan,
Here in Egypt’s not our home.
Let your heart so yearn;
Someday you’ll return To the land that God has given us!

17. Time for DepartureExodus 7-10
Time for departure, Pharaoh said NO!
Plagues came to Egypt – ten in a row. God gave instructions, what they should do;
Those who obeyed Him, He brought them through!
(Chorus)
When I see the blood, When I see the blood,
When I see the blood,
I will pass, I will pass over you!
Stay in your house, put blood on the posts;
Inside be feasting - lamb you will roast;
Shoes on your feet – and staff in your hands -
Be ready! You’re leaving at my command!

For the Passover!

19. It Was At Midnight
1. It was at midnight there was a cry, and all Egyptians wondered why, The judgment fell on every home, passed over the Hebrews alone. It was on that dark and fearful night that Pharaoh finally gave up the fight, “Get your flocks and your herds and go! Be gone! Be gone! Bless me also!”
2. Gathered all the armies of the Lord, six hundred thousand men, plus more, Left from Egypt together on that day; multitudes were on their way. And Jehovah went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, And my night in a pillar of fire so bright; they could go by day or night.
3. When Pharaoh heard that they were gone, he said, “What have we done?” Sent six hundred chosen chariots chasing them, with many mighty marching men. So finally they reached the place where Israel camped down by the sea; Then Israel cried unto the Lord! They were scared as they could be. 4. Then Moses said, “Stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord! The Egyptians whom you see today, you will not see anymore.” God said, “Move forward now, Moses, lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand; I will fight for you, I’ll be glorified.” Then on, to the promised land.
5. Then all night long a strong wind blew, God caused the sea to split in two; Then Israel passed through on dry ground, with waters walled up all around. All Egypt’s camp was in confusion, their chariots swerved around. Moses stretched his hand out o’er the sea: all the water came falling down.
6. Not even one of them was left, and when the Israelites saw The power which God had manifest, they believed and were filled with awe. They believed in God who fought for them, and saved all Israel that day; And Moses, too, they then believed, whom God chose to lead the way.

20. Let Us Sing Unto the Lord Exodus 15:1-2
We’re the people who were slaves
Down in Egypt’s land.
Crying to God: oh, deliver us!
So the God of the Hebrews
Rescued us from Pharaoh’s hand.
Glory to God, Hallelujah!
Let us sing unto the Lord
For His mighty victory!
For the horse and his rider
God has cast into the sea!
Now we’re on the other side
Set for Canaan now, we’re free --
Glory to God, Hallelujah!

21. Finally! Finally! Exodus 1-15
The Israelites were prisoners trapped in Egypt.
Oh let them go to hold a feast! God planned to get them out by sending Moses.
Oh let them go to hold a feast!
But when the Pharaoh heard that they were leaving,
Don’t let them go to hold a feast!
His hardened heart said, “No, I need them working.” Don’t let them go to hold a feast!
Finally, finally, many plagues had passed.
Finally, finally, they were free at last! To hold a feast, to hold a feast
To hold a feast unto their God!
Hallelujah freed!
And now they’re feasting with their God!

22. Oh, We Will Feast
Oh, we will feast and fellowship!
Oh, we will feast and fellowship.
Thank You, Lord, we’re out of Egypt,
So we can feast and fellowship.
Oh, we will feast and fellowship!
Oh, we will feast and fellowship.
Take us onward in to Canaan,
As we feast and fellowship.

In Egypt, but God saved him,
Made him a prince, then Forty years of tending sheep,
Of all on earth, then man most humble,
God could finally use him!
So Moses and Aaron
Spoke God’s Word to Pharaoh. Plagues came to force him
To let the Hebrews go!
