FMG TOUGHEST JOBFMG have introduced a program where each member of the FMG executive team participates in a ‘toughest job’ exercise on site. The job tasks vary from House Keeping to Village Dishwasher. Last month, executive Peter Huston spent a few hours as the Cloudbreak village dishwasher.

Great news for Gemma Collard Retail Utility at Karntama Village, after 10 months of hard work Gemma has recently been in training as a Relief Retail Supervisor. Her friendly, outgoing personality is a real asset to Morris and appreciated by customers and workmates.

Gemma is one of our bright lights in our Aboriginal team, a proud Noongar woman.

Gemma says this opportunity is a great chance for her to develop her management skills adding to her significant experience in the hospitality sector.

Before Gemma’s promotion, she showed great leadership skills, team spirit and was the best person to fill the position.“We are very proud of the positive contributions Gemma brings to the team. Her natural passion for wanting to achieve 110% every day is extremely infectious and well received by her peers” Tui Moeahu Village Manager, Karntama Village.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Morris employees at Ichthys have started a great initiative to donate old boots and work clothes to the local St Vincent de Paul Society. Ichthys received a letter of thanks for the work they had done, St Vincent de Paul help the less fortunate to get their life back on track, all money raised from sales of clothing goes to helping the disadvantaged. Well done Ichthys.

HSEQ SAFETY CALENDAR WINNERSPictured are some of the winners of the Morris HSEQ Safety calendar competition. Last year we asked members of the Morris family to draw how their family stay safe at work. We received so many creative and colourful entries, making it hard to pick the twelve winners! The CEO for a Day campaign is aimed at giving Indigenous people the hope and belief that they too can be a CEO. Morris is one of 14 participating businesses.
