Greeting
¶ The Minister welcomes the people to the online service.
Hymn: Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation; O my soul, praise Him, for He is your health and salvation; With joy and fear To God your Saviour draw near, Praise Him in glad adoration.
Praise to the Lord, Who so prospers your work and defends you; Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend you; Ponder anew What the Almighty can do, If with His love He befriends you.
Praise to the Lord, Who, when darkness and sin are abounding, Who, when the godless do triumph, all virtue confounding, Sheds forth His light, Chasing the terrors of night, Saints with His mercy surrounding.
Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him! All that has life and breath, come now with praises before Him! Let the Amen Sound from His people again: For evermore we’ll adore Him.

The Apostles’ Creed
All I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy universal church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen
Prayer of Confession
Minister The Scriptures urge us repeatedly to acknowledge and confess our many sins and evil
ways and that we should not try to hide them from Almighty God our heavenly Father.
We are to confess them with a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart so that we
may receive forgiveness through God's infinite goodness and mercy.
Let us then with a pure heart and humble voice approach our Father's throne of
grace, and pray together:
All Almighty God, our Heavenly Father
We have sinned against you and against our neighbours
in thought and word and deed,
through negligence, through weakness,
through our own deliberate fault.
We are truly sorry
and repent of all our sins.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
who died for us,
forgive us all that is past,
and grant that we may serve you in newness of life
to the glory of your name. Amen
Minister Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who desires not the death of a sinner,
but rather that he may turn from his wickedness, and live;
He pardons and absolves all them that truly repent and believe his holy Gospel.
For this reason, let us ask him to grant us true repentance, and his Holy Spirit,
that our lives may be pure and holy;
so that at the last we may come to his eternal joy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All Amen

Song: A Debtor to Mercy
A debtor to mercy alone Of covenant mercy I sing I come with Your righteousness on My humble offering to bring The judgments of Your holy law With me can have nothing to do My Saviour’s obedience and blood Hide all my transgressions from view The work which Your goodness began The arm of Your strength will complete Your promise is yes and amen And never was forfeited yet The future or things that are now No power below or above Can make You Your purpose forego Or sever my soul from Your love
My name from the palms of Your hands Eternity will not erase Impressed on Your heart it remains In marks of indelible grace Yes I, to the end will endure Until I bow down at Your throne Forever and always secure Forever and always secure Forever and always secure A debtor to mercy alone

Old Testament Reading: Proverbs 18:1-10 1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire;
he breaks out against all sound judgment. 2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing his opinion. 3 When wickedness comes, contempt comes also,
and with dishonor comes disgrace. 4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters;
the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. 5 It is not good to be partial to the wicked
or to deprive the righteous of justice. 6 A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. 7 A fool's mouth is his ruin,
and his lips are a snare to his soul. 8 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into the inner parts of the body.

9 Whoever is slack in his work
is a brother to him who destroys. 10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
Reader This is the Word of the Lord.
All Thanks be to God.
Psalm 145
A Song of Praise. Of David. 1 I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless you
and praise your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts. 5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. 6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness. 7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. 8 The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9 The Lord is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made. 10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,
and all your saints shall bless you! 11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom
and tell of your power, 12 to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds,
Page 6 of 12
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
[The Lord is faithful in all his words
and kind in all his works.] 14 The Lord upholds all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down. 15 The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food in due season. 16 You open your hand;
you satisfy the desire of every living thing. 17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works. 18 The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. 19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them. 20 The Lord preserves all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy. 21 My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.
Reader Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
All as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be forever. Amen.
New Testament Reading: Colossians 4:2-6
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also
for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of
which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be
gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Reader This is the Word of the Lord.
All Thanks be to God.

Song: Facing A Task Unfinished (We Go to All the World)
Facing a task unfinished That drives us to our knees A need that, undiminished Rebukes our slothful ease We, who rejoice to know Thee Renew before Thy throne The solemn pledge we owe Thee To go and make Thee known
Where other lords beside Thee Hold their unhindered sway Where forces that defied Thee Defy Thee still today With none to heed their crying For life, and love, and light Unnumbered souls are dying And pass into the night We go to all the world With kingdom hope unfurled No other name has power to save But Jesus Christ The Lord
We bear the torch that flaming Fell from the hands of those Who gave their lives proclaiming That Jesus died and rose Ours is the same commission The same glad message ours Fired by the same ambition To Thee we yield our powers
O Father who sustained them O Spirit who inspired Saviour, whose love constrained them To toil with zeal untired From cowardice defend us From lethargy awake! Forth on Thine errands send us To labour for Thy sake

Collects
¶ The collect for the Third Sunday after Trinity
All Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
¶ Collect for God’s help for us to please Him
All Go before us Lord, in all our doings,
with your most gracious favour,
and further us by your continual help,
that in all our works begun, continued and ended in you,
we may glorify your holy name,
and by your mercy obtain everlasting life,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom with you and the Holy Spirit
be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.
¶ The Lord’s Prayer
All Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever. Amen.

Announcements
Song: Servants of the Gospel
Though we were undeserving Christ died to wash us clean He bore the Father's anger While nailed upon the tree In darkness and in turmoil The judgment fell on Him Bringing us forgiveness That new life might begin
As servants of the gospel Christ's work we carry on That through our prayer and witness By grace we might win some We call on every nation To turn to Christ the Lord Refuge in His mercy And marvel at His love
The grave could not contain Him From death the Son broke free Exalted by His Father To rule eternally And in His grace He calls us To be His chosen church As His holy temple His priests to all the earth Marked with His Holy Spirit And guided by His word Christ gathers us together Prepares us for good works And so with grace apportioned We serve each others needs Sharing in each blessing And helping in our grief
