03 PASSING THE PEACE

05 SCRIPTURE Matthew 14:13-21

06 SERMON More than Enough 07 DUET When You Believe S. Schwartz Rebecca Flintoft, vocals and cello, Kajsa Teitelbaum, vocals, piano, percussion, choir

Many nights we've prayed with no proof anyone could hearIn our hearts a hopeful song we barely understoodNow we are not afraid although we know there's much to fearWe were moving mountains long before we knew we could

There can be miracles when you believeThough hope is frail it's hard to killWho knows what miracles you can achieveWhen you believe somehow you willYou will when you believe

In this time of fear when prayer so often proves in vainHope seemed like the summer birds too swiftly flown awayYet now I'm standing here my heart's so full I can't explainSeeking faith and speaking words I never thought I'd sayThere can be miracles…

They don't always happen when you ask and it's easy to give in to your fearBut when you're blinded by your pain can't see your way safe through the rainThought of a still resilient voice says love is very nearThere can be miracles…

08 PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE Rev. Pedro Silva

09 PSALM 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; he makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

16 PRAYER OF THANKSGIVINGGenerous and Faithful God, you have fed us at your table. May the nourishment we have received enable us to enrich the lives of others wherever we may go from here. Whether the future be shadowed or bright, the road smooth or rough, whether our cares be light or heavy, and our song strong or weak, keep our hearts warm and our hands open, our lives ever embracing and ever embraced by your love. Amen.

ARTS CAMP WORSHIP | SUNDAY, AUGUST 16Join us on August 16 as we culminate our ARTS Camp experience with a worship service created by our Middle School ARTS Campers with technical production assistance from Er-Hsuan Li, Julia Wirth, Liesl Bryant (music),and Sam Bauman (video). They wrote, staged and cast a recreation of scripture: The Story of Job. They also sang hymns (individually in a sound booth) and wrote the liturgy. Our Elementary ARTS Campers contributed to the song "Weave Us Together". Deborah will offer reflections on the youth's exploration of the story of Job. You willbe astonished at what our youth have created! It is not to be missed!

BENEFIT CONCERT FOR LOCAL NAACP CHAPTER | SUNDAY, AUGUST 16, AT 5:30 PM We will broadcast a benefit concert for our mission partner, The Boulder Branch of the NAACP. There will be music from many artists in the community, poetry, and readings to lift our spirits as we engage in the justice building work of Beloved Community. For over a century, the NAACP has ceaselessly worked for equity for all people and to end race based discrimination. All contributions will go directly to support these efforts in our own community. The concert will be available on the First Congregational Church Facebook Page and our YouTube Channel. If you would like to donate online, please visit https://naacpbouldercounty.org. Or make checks payable to NAACP Boulder County and send them to P.O. Box 19982, Boulder, CO 80308.

AN UPDATED PHOTO DIRECTORY IS ON THE WAYPrior to the pandemic, a plan was hatched to create a new church photo directory using our Realm database. This effort was temporarily disrupted as we adapted to the pandemic. But we are ready to start again. And we need your help! The first step is for everyone to review their profiles and photos in Realm. This is very important for the accuracy of the directory. Once you’ve reviewed your information or if you need assistance, let us know by completing a brief survey available in Friday Morning’s email. In this survey, you can let us know that yourinformation is current or you can choose to have us update the provided information for you.
