Dry cargo vessels arrivals at the Portof Houston continued a dramatic in-crease in 1967 with 3,087 arrivals, 40more than the 3,047 that docked in 1966.In 1965, the Port received 2,479 drycargo vessels.
Total vessel arrivals in 1967, includ-ing tankers as well as dry cargo ships, numbered ~,229, flying the flags of 47different nations. United States flag ves-sels at 1,379 were tile single largest rep-resentation of any country. Next on thelist was Norway with 558 vessels, fol-lowed by Liberia with 321 ships, WestGermany with 260 and the United King-dom with 239 ships.
The increase in dry cargo vessels re-flects the growing movement of generalcargo over tile expanding wharf facili-ties at the Port of Houston.
