Asslamualaikum dan Salam Sejahtera,

Selamat Datang’ and a very warm welcome, to all invited speakers and participants to the 1st International Conference for Moral, Civic and Character Education (MCCEIC) organized by the Faculty of Human Sciences, Sultan Idris Education University (SIEU). It gives me great pleasure to pen a few words of the proceeding for this conference on behalf of the big family of UPSI and the organizing committee. I am extremely pleased and strongly

support this conference as it provides a platform for academicians and practitioners to gather and share their findings and experiences in the field of Moral, Civic and Character Education with the aim to continuously improve and extend the body of knowledge.

We are honoured to have with us all distinguished speakers and presenters from abroad and local to share with us their latest research and insight in Moral, Civic and Character Education. I sincerely hope the faculty would be able to collaborate and share new possibilities with the participants in the teaching and learning of Moral, Civic and Character Education. As a matter of fact, the faculty is committed to bring changes in education through innovative teaching, research, publications, consultancies and community services. Hence, one of the platform for that purpose is to increase intellectual discourse in the field through exchange of ideas and collaborations among experts. Such platform is made possible through as such the establishment of this MCCEIC conference.

In addition to that, some background of Moral Education is that, it is a compulsory subject in the Malaysian schools’ curriculum. I believe this subject could develop moral character of students holistically through the physical, cognitive and affective domains. Moral Education teachers play an important part in achieving the aspiration of the nation as outlined in the national education philosophy. Moral Education teachers must play their role as agents of change to educate and develop our children’s bodies and minds toward improving their personal well-being and contribute positively to society and nation building.

Allow me to congratulate the dean of the Human Science faculty and the organizing committee and not forgetting all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make this event a huge success. Finally, I would like to thank all participants, whom many I believe are coming to MCCEIC and Tanjung Malim for the first time to participate in this conference. I hope that each of you will find something of value and expand your network of contacts. I hope you will enjoy the conference and the hospitality from MCCEIC organizers.

Assalamualaikum dan Salam Sejahtera

Dengan penuh rasa kesyukuran kehadrat Ilahi dan dengan segala hormat saya bagi pihak jawatankuasa penganjur, mengalu-alukan semua perwakilan ke Persidangan Seminar Moral, Sivik dan Pendidikan Karekter dari 11 hingga 12 Mac 2020 bertempat di Kampus Sultan Abdul Jalil, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Perak.

Saya selaku Dekan Fakulti Sains Kemanusiaan, mengucapkan tahniah dan syabas kepada semua ahli jawatankuasa seminar dan semua yang terlibat yang telah bertungkus lumus bagi memastikan seminar ini dapat dijayakan pada kali ini. Persidangan dua hari ini diharapkan akan dapat menjadi peluang bagi kalangan sarjana unutuk bertukar pandangan dan menyerlahkan penyelidikan dan pemahaman mengenai pendidikan moral serta bidan yang berkait.

Pihak Fakulti Sains Kemanusiaan sentiasa menggalakkan budaya ilmu sentiasa diberi keutamaan. AbstractThe Malaysian Education Development Plan (MEDP) 2013-2025 aims to

improve the education system in line with the changing world of modernization. One of the focuses in this plan is to create human capital with higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in order to compete locally and globally. Accordingly, the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) has undertaken several efforts to cultivate HOTS in schools. This study aims to explore the implementation of HOTS by Moral Education teachers in a secondary school in Penang. This study is based on Cognitive Development Theory, Constructivist Learning Theory, Bloom’s Taxonomy Revised and Thinking Disposition Theory. This study is qualitative in nature, using a case study design. Data was collected using teaching and learning observations in the classroom, interviews after teaching and learning process and document analysis. The study participants consisted of three Moral Education teachers; namely two novice teachers and an experienced teacher. The findings show that all three Moral Education teachers have sufficient knowledge and skills in HOTS. They have positive thinking disposition in HOTS practice too. Based on the findings, the researcher suggests continuous HOTS Training Module for Moral Education Teachers. In addition, HOTS should be implemented in Google Classroom, and HOTS Resource Bank should be developed in Portal 1Bestari Net for Moral Education.

AbstrakPembaharuan dalam penggubalan kurikulum sering dilakukan dengan

mengambil kira peredaran semasa, keperluan dan perubahan global dalam bidang pendidikan. Bermula tahun 2017, Pendidikan Moral menengah rendah di Malaysia mengandungi tambahan 32 jam aktivi ti pengajaran dan pembelajaran di luar bilik darjah. Oleh itu, tumpuan kajian ini adalah untuk menerokai peluang dalam pelaksanaan aktiviti di luar waktu pengajaran dan pembelajaran Pendidikan Moral menengah rendah. Enam buah sekolah yang terdiri daripada tujuh orang peserta kajian mengambil bahagian dalam kajian ini. Peserta kajian ini dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data bagi kajian ini dikutip menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dengan menemu bual (one-to-one), pemerhatian dan penelitian dokumen. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan kaedah deskriptif bagi mendapatkan tema persoalan kajian yang diketengahkan dalam kajian ini. Kajian ini membuktikan bahawa PMLW memberi peluang kepada guru Pendidikan Moral menengah rendah untuk memupuk kesedaran moral dan menerapkan amalan nilai yang dipelajari murid secara langsung. Bukan itu sahaja malah PMLW turut mewujudkan ruang kepada murid untuk meningkatkan Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT). Sesi perbincangan yang dijalankan oleh guru bersama-sama murid sebelum, semasa dan selepas pelaksanaan PMLW dapat mencungkil kreativiti, merapatkan hubungan guru dan murid serta menyemai minat murid dalam Pendidikan Moral.

Abstract The globalization in the world today has brought an abundant exchange of

information and the ease of intercultural interaction. This has caused serious problems in Indonesia. One of the problem is the waning spirit of nationalism among the youth. The condition is a challenge for the effort of higher education institutions to revitalize the civic education. In higher education in Indonesia, the character education is carried out in the Pendidikan Pengembangan Kepribadian (MPK), one of which is through the civic education program. The utilization of blended learning is an effort in revitalizing civic education, it is more interesting and not monotonous. The combination of face-to-face (synchronous) and online (asynchronous) as well as the use of information and communication technology makes Blended Learning becomes an option of learning model that is suitable for today’s digital generation. Blended Learning has several advantages such as expanding the learning range –not only limited to classrooms context. The students can use various sources for learning and adjust to their needs. As one of the information and communication technology-based universities in Indonesia, Bina Nusantara University uses Blended Learning through BinusMaya for civic education. AbstractHumans as khalifah fi al-ardh are given freedom in managing the earth,

however, it is need to be implemented with responsibility. The position of humans is only as a user, nurse, or manager, and not a ruler, so that humans should not treat the earth arbitrarily. Everything will be accounted to Allah Subhanaahu Wa Ta’aala who give the mandate. However, there is a lot of natural damage caused by human actions, and the roots of environmental crises that hit the world are nothing but because of the manifestations of spiritual crisis. Natural damage or natural disaster is believed as the result of human actions, because it is not in accordance with God’s provisions which has been determined for the human needs since the beginning. This study seeks to develop the environmental care character of high school students in Kabupaten Banyumas. This study uses a religious constructivism-based disaster mitigation learning model, through the PEDATI learning pathway (PElajari, DAlami, Terapkan, dan EvaluasI). Abstract

The recent development of politics in Indonesia, especially the political awareness of the young generation who lack political education is the initial concern of this study. This study aims to describe the process of internalizing Political Education values through the Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) approach in Citizenship Education, which aim to increase political awareness of state high school students in Kabupaten Garut. The inculcation of Political Education values formed in high school students will avoid apathy. This article argues that the CTL approach is an important instrument for internalizing political education values for students. Besides, this approach helps students to understand the subject in the context of daily life, personal circumstances, social and cultural community. The approach also give an impact in increasing political literacy, namely the ability to think positively and constructively in responding to political problems. AbstrakKajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau keberkesanan kaedah pembetulan dalam

pencapaian peperiksaan Pendidikan Moral pelajar tingkatan empat. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pemerhatian, temu bual dan analisis dokumen telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Responden kajian terdiri daripada 16 orang murid tingkatan empat. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan penambahbaikan teknik menjawab soalan Pendidikan Moral dalam kalangan responden. Dapatan kajian juga mendapati responden kajian berupaya menyelesaikan isu moral dalam kelas. Dapatan kajian turut menggambarkan responden dapat meningkatkan keputusan peperiksaan sekolah. AbstractHumane Education is a form of character education that uses animals in the

form of stories, teaching, and activities to develop an attitude of respect, compassion, kindness and responsibility in the relationship between humans and animals. Humane Education in the implementation of character education in Indonesia is still constrained by the lack of information that Humane Education has various benefits as a form of character education. One of the purposes of character education is to instill the good values to the students (living values). Living values are not limited to human beings as living beings, but also people with animals and living being. In this case, making Humane Education an integral part of character education gives great hope that the students can better understand and implement the good values in their lives. Since Human Education has potency in preventing violence and enhancing social empathy of students, this research seeks to provide empirical reasons to support Humane Education as an integral part of character education. AbstractService Learning Malaysia-University for Society (SULAM) is an innovative

idea to bring higher education students towards society and help improve their life in every aspect. In the words of National Service Learning Clearinghouse, service learning is a strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. The Ministry of Education (MOE) Malaysia has included service learning as one of the requirement for university students to undergo before they pass out as full-fledged graduates. This presentation narrates students of different ethnicity working together for goodness of humanities through service learning. Service learning in the University of Malaya (UM) model is a strategy where students learn through serving and they learn about dealing with daily life challenges and bridge between the worlds of education, sports, work, and personal life. It is one of the tools, which has the ability to assist students of multicultural, multi-religion to come together as one to serve humanities. Multiple case studies from different faculties in UM will be shared and a multicultural service learning model would be suggested in this presentation.

AbstractTechnological advancements and development have brought great changes

to the world of society. Activities such as online banking, sales, music and entertainment and communications are done through online. The question is whether digital consumers today can be categorized as good digital citizens? This study is a preliminary study which designed to identify the level of knowledge and practices among undergraduate students in Malaysia. Forty two (42) undergraduate students of Moral Education Programme, Sultan Idris University of Education were involved in this study. The variables involve in this study are criteria of good citizen : respect yourself and others, which covering three elements including digital access, digital ethics and digital law. Items for each variables are built and modified based on Westheimer and Kahne’s good citizen framework and Ribble digital citizenship elements, and this instrument has been verified by experts. This study used descriptive analysis in examining the level of knowledge and practice of students in the domain of self-respect and others. The findings show that both the level of knowledge and practice of digital citizenship are at a low level with a mean value of 1.40. In addition, these findings also show that the existence of digital citizenship education play an important role in promoting good digital citizens among students in Malaysia.

pengurusan dalam program latihan, bimbingan penyelia dengan motivasi kerja. Borang soal selidik digunakan untuk mengumpul data daripada pekerja yang sedang berkhidmat di Agensi Pusat Kerajaan Persekutuan Malaysia. Pakej perisian SmartPLS telah digunakan untuk menentukan kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan instrumen dan turut digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis kajian. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa kesan peranan pengurusan dalam program latihan adalah dipengaruhi oleh motivasi kerja dalam organsiasi. Justeru, kajian ini bersetuju bahawa peranan pengurusan adalah pemboleh ubah peramal yang penting untuk meningkatkan dan mengekalkan motivasi kerja dalam era revolusi perindustrian. Selanjutnya, penyelidikan ini turut menyediakan ruangan perbincangan, cadangan dan kesimpulan kajian.

AbstrakPlatform pembelajaran semakin kerap digunakan dalam proses pengajaran

dan pembelajaran masa kini. Dalam Pendidikan Moral, fasa prapengajaran, aktiviti bersemuka dan fasa pasca pengajaran dalam Kelas Berbalik (Flipped Classroom) telah digunakan untuk meneliti dan membuat keputusan moral. Kajian kualitatif yang menggunakan reka bentuk kajian tindakan telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Temu bual berfokus telah dilaksanakan terhadap 6 orang guru praperkhidmatan (GPP) opsyen Pendidikan Moral yang terlibat dalam teknik Kelas Berbalik. Dapatan kajian mengetengahkan GPP berupaya untuk meneliti dan membuat keputusan moral daripada isu-isu moral berdasarkan tiga tema pembelajaran yang dibincangkan. Dapatan kajian juga mendapati GPP berupaya merangka strategi penyelesaian, menaakul isu moral dan menilai sebab musabab setelah perbincangan dilaksanakan menerusi aktiviti seperti menonton video dan maklum balas yang diberikan di dalam platform secara talian Schoology (fasa prapengajaran dan pasca pengajaran).

Abstract Building a nation is the ultimate goal of a visionary and developed nation. It

involves a combination of three main components, namely nation, individual and nation building. A strong and stable nation needs a high level of quality and maturity in its leaders. Younger generations are the assets of future leadership of the nation. They are the future leaders of the country and will inherit the national leadership pillar in the future. Within the context of multiracial Malaysia, there is strong responsibility and trust upon leaders in addressing the issue. It is a major challenge for the future generations of the country’s leadership. Therefore, efforts need to be made now to prepare them for their understanding and thinking skills. The spirit of patriotism needs to be cultivated, sustained and strengthened in the students who will become the leaders of this country. This process will foster the spirit and understanding of patriotism within them as well as the motivation and willingness to sacrifice for the sake of the nation. In order to ensure that patriotic students, the teaching and learning provided must have elements that emphasize the increasing maturity, self-esteem and level of academic behavior of each student. This is done through civic education in school. , Students will be able to understand the diversity and uniqueness of the various races, cultures and customs in the community which will guarantee the prosperity of life within a unique Malaysian country. ABSTRACT

KEPIMPINAN STRATEGIK DALAM PERUBAHAN KUALITI PENGAJARAN GURU

AbstrakKepimpinan strategik merupakan salah satu dari gaya atau bentuk amalan

kepimpinan yang diamalkan oleh organisasi sekolah pada hari ini. Kepimpinan yang mempunyai ciri kepimpinan strategic ini perlu jelas tentang faktor persekitaran seperti kualiti pengajaran guru yang secara langsung boleh menjejaskan kualiti pencapaian pelajar mereka. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti hubungan antara kepimpinan strategik dan kualiti pengajaran di kalangan guru yang mengajar di sekolah rendah daerah Sentul Kuala Lumpur . Kajian ini telah menggunakan kaedah kajian keratin rentas iaitu menggunakan soal selidik. Bagi mengukur tahap kepimpinan strategik dalam kajian ini pengkaji telah menggunakan soal selidik telah diadaptasi dari Hairuddin Ali (2012). Sebaliknya, untuk mengukur kualiti pengajaran, penyelidik juga telah menyesuaikan soal selidik yang dibangunkan oleh Shahril Marzuki (2005), iaitu Pengajaran Berkesan dari Model Slavin. Kajian ini telah menemui bahawa tahap kepimpinan strategik di sekolah rendah daerah Sentul secara keseluruhan adalah bertahap sederhana, manakala untuk kualiti pengajaran, ia menunjukkan bahawa ianya berada pada tahap yang tinggi. Hasil analisis dari kajian ini juga telah menunjukkan terdapatnya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepimpinan strategik dan kualiti pengajaran di kalangan guru. Dengan ini, pengkaji mengharapkan agar para kepimpinan sekolah akan terus mengamalkan amalan kepimpinan strategik supaya mutu pengajaran guru dapat di tingkatkan di sekolah masing-masing sejajar peningkatan kecemerlangan sekolah mereka.

AbstrakKertas kajian ini mengakaji perhubungan antara sokongan penyelia, sokongan

rakan kerja dan tingkah laku kewargaan organisasi. Data kajian dikumpul menggunakan borang soal selidik yang diedarkan kepada 100 pekerja kumpulan pengurusan dan pelaksana/ sokongan di pusat pentadbiran awam di Malaysia. Dua keputusan penting yang diperoleh daripada dapatan analisis menggunakan model laluan SmartPLS iaitu: pertama, hubungan antara sokongan penyelia mempunyai perkaitan yang signifikan dengan tingkah laku kewargaan organisasi. Kedua, hubungan antara sokongan rakan kerja mempunyai perkaitan yang signifikan dengan tingkah laku kewargaan organisasi. Penemuan tersebut telah menyokong bahawa kesan sokongan penyelia dan sokongan rakan kerja bertindak sebagai pemboleh ubah peramal dalam model sokongan organisasi yang berupaya meningkatkan kelakuan positif dan sikap murni pekerja dalam organisasi. Selanjutnya, penyelidikan ini turut menyediakan kupasan yang terperinci tentang implikasi dan kesimpulan kajian. Kata kunci: Sokongan penyelia, sokongan rakan kerja, SmartPLS.

AbstractThe Moral Education teacher training program in Malaysia has emphasised

incorporating multicultural education in teacher preparation programs and courses. This study focuses on two research questions: (1) What is the Malaysia in-service teacher’s attitudes and belief on multicultural education? (2) What were the teachers’ experiences when implementing multicultural education during teaching practice? The design method used in this study was qualitative interview study. 10 respondents were interviewed for collecting data. The results find that the pre service teachers have high awareness and sensitive on student’s diversity, however, a lot of external constraints are faced by these pre service teachers and forward implications for their multicultural teaching. This study also find that the pre service teachers lack confidence in their abilities for applying multicultural teaching idea.

AbstractA digitally responsible citizen derived from good understandings’ and

skills in using digital technology. This research is a preliminary research aims to identify level of understandings’ and skills focused on one of the three principles of digital citizenship, that is educate self and others among undergraduate students. Forty-two (42) of Moral Education programme students at Sultan Idris Education University were randomly selected as respondents. The variables in this study are criteria of good digital citizenship and the principles of educate self and others which covers three elements of digital citizenship that are digital literacy, digital communication and digital commerce. Items were built based on Westheimer and Kahne good citizenship framework and Ribble’s digital citizenship elements. The research instrument has been verified by experts. The data was descriptively analyzed. The findings showed that students’ understandings’ and skills on digital citizenship based on educate self and others domains were low at a mean value of 1.35. This study suggested that more research or discourse on digital citizenship among Malaysian in particular youth who are among the most engaged group to internet and information technology should be done.

AbstrakPermainan blok merupakan satu permainan yang menjadi pilihan setiap

kanak-kanak serta guru dan ibu bapa. Ia menjadi pilihan bukan sahaja kerana bentuknya yang pelbagai malah kepelbagaian warna, material serta hasil daripada gabungan binaan tersebut menjadikan permainan blok adalah satu permainan yang menarik buat mereka. Rata-rata individu tidak menolak kepentingan dan manfaat aktiviti ini terhadap perkembangan minda, kretiviti , emosi dan sosial kanak-kanak justeru satu ruangan khusus bagi aktiviti ini telah diwujudkan di taska dan di prasekolah.Walaupun ramai yang cakna terhadap manfaat permainan ini namun kepincangan dari segi interaksi antara guru dengan kanak-kanak selain kurangya pengetahuan dan kemahiran guru merangsang pembelajaran kanak-kanak sewaktu bermain blok menyebabkan manfaat permainan ini tidak dapat dilihat hasilnya secara total. Justeru, kertas konsep ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti pengaruh guru sewaktu aktiviti bermain blok dalam meningkatkan perkembangan sosial dan emosi kanak-kanak prasekolah. Abstract

It has been an intense discussion on human responsibility over their actions. In response to this, three resolves have been presented, namely, admitting, denying and being equidistant. This article has three objectives: i) exploring previous thoughts in Islam and the West, ii) examining the implications of action upon responsibility and iii) redefining physical and moral responsibilities. This study uses document analysis as its main methodology, analyzing the classic and contemporary clerics. The findings claimed that the mainstream of Islamic and Western thought have communal ideas concerning human responsibilities by acknowledging the laws of nature as decreed by God, but, being the only determinant of physical responsibility. However, leaving an act in itself is liable for responsibility. The act is also morally responsible when the responsibility has been distinctly justified in terms of knowledge, will and ability. YOUTH AND POLITICAL PARTICIPATION: THE ROLE OF NEW MEDIA

AbstractThis paper examines the role of new media in fostering political participation

among youth in Malaysia. Using the survey as a method of data collection, 600 respondents between the ages of 18-40 were randomly selected in Peninsular Malaysia to answer the questionnaire. The result found that Malaysian youth use the new media to seek political news, as well as discuss and express political opinions. The additional analysis further discovered that political websites and social networking sites were the main channels of use among them, apart from the search engines. This results thus showed that the new media do play their roles in encouraging the youth to participate in politics via the online domain. Keywords: Youth, Political Participation, New Media.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to focus on empowering Moral Education

through Critical Theory, Critical Pedagogy and Forum Theatre. The art of theatre has long been associated with the world of education. At the same time, the power of critical pedagogy and Forum Theatre in education are well known to educators. However, the use of critical theory and critical pedagogy as a theoretical framework and Forum Theatre as pedagogical in the field of Moral Education is still lacking and limited. Therefore, this article discusses the use and justification of Critical Pedagogy as a theoretical framework, and Forum Theatre technique as 21st-century pedagogy in teaching and learning of Moral Education in secondary school. In this regard, this paper is structured in a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is divided into two sections. The first one summarizes the Critical Theory and Paulo Freire’s Critical Pedagogy as the theories that support the content of the Moral Education curriculum in Malaysia. In the second section, Forum Theater techniques and the four-steps of Forum Theater, introduced by Augusto Boal are also discussed. This paper shows the necessity to link practice and theory in teaching and learning of Moral Education. Forum Theatre technique that supports philosophy and critical pedagogical features can play a role as an active and interactive learning to instill moral skills and values among students.

Kurikulum Matematik sekolah rendah di Malaysia telah mengalami satu perubahan sejak tahun 2011, terutamanya kurikulum Matematik Tahap II. Terdapat beberapa topik baharu telah ditambah dalam Dokumen Standard Kurikulum dan Pentaksiran (DSKP) Matematik Tahap II bagi Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah (KSSR). Topik seperti Nisbah dan Kadaran yang merupakan topik yang dipelajari oleh pelajar sekolah menengah mula diperkenalkan konsep asasnya kepada murid Tahap II di peringkat sekolah rendah. Murid tahun 6 perlu menguasai kemahiran menyelesaikan masalah harian yang melibatkan nisbah dan kadaran yang mudah. Kajian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengenal pasti penguasaan penaakulan perkadaran murid tahun 6 dalam topik Nisbah dan Kadaran dengan menggunakan model bar. Model bar ialah model yang terkenal dan dipraktiskan di sekolah-sekolah di Singapura. Kajian ini dijalankan berpandukan kajian tindakan model Stephen Kemmis. 11 orang murid dari sebuah sekolah rendah di Kamunting, Perak telah dipilih sebagai responden dalam kajian ini. Data dikumpul dengan menggunakan analisis dokumen, kaedah pemerhatian dan temu bual. KORELASI ANTARA KEHADIRAN DENGAN PENCAPAIAN UPSR: SATU KAJIAN UNTUK TINDAKAN SUSULAN

Abstrak

Kajian tindakan ini bertujuan untuk melihat korelasi antara kehadiran murid ke sekolah dengan pencapaiannya dalam UPSR. Selain itu, kajian ini juga dijalankan untuk mengenalpasti punca dan menjana pelan intervensi yang berfokus terhadap murid. Seramai 46 orang murid yang mengambil UPSR pada tahun 2019 terlibat di dalam kajian ini. Kehadiran di sekolah dibahagikan kepada tiga kategori, iaitu kehadiran tinggi, sederhana dan rendah. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa 90.9% pelajar yang dikategorikan sebagai kehadiran tinggi berjaya menguasai tahap minima (MTM), 62.5% pelajar kehadiran sederhana berjaya MTM, manakala 80% pelajar kehadiran rendah berjaya MTM. Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan pola hubungan positif iaitu semakin tinggi kehadiran semakin meningkat peratusan MTM dalam UPSR. Nilai pekali,r Pearson 0.462 menunjukkan hubungan korelasi positif yang sederhana kuat wujud antara kehadiran dengan pencapaian. Dapatan ini menjelaskan pencapaian murid bergantung kepada faktor sekolah dan juga faktor luar. Sehubungan itu, tindakan susulan yang dilakukan oleh sekolah adalah menjana cadangan pelan intervensi berfokus untuk setiap kategori murid. Pelan intervensi tersebut merangkumi peningkatan kualiti murid, pembangunan kapasiti guru, dan peningkatan muafakat penglibatan ibu bapa dan komuniti (PIBK), sebagai salah satu usaha untuk melahirkan modal insan unggul seperti yang dihasratkan dalam Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia (PPPM) 2013 – 2025, iaitu strategi “menggali tanah sampai ke akar umbi” dan “merawati penyakit murid dengan ubat yang spesifik”. Abstract

Moral identity and prosocial identity are of considerable importance when it comes to explaining prosocial behaviour. However, there remains a paucity of discussion and no general agreement about the possible links between moral identity and prosocial identity with the prosocial behaviour development. Moral identity is defined as the extent to which an individual consider being a moral person as important to their self-identity while prosocial identity is referring to the dimension of the self-concept focused on helping and benefiting others. In this paper, we will discuss how these two aspects associated to the positive social behaviour, for instance, sharing and helping behaviours. This paper focus on recent arguments regarding the concept of moral identity, prosocial identity. At the same time, we try to discover how these two aspects contribute to the development of prosocial behaviour base on previous research findings. We take a multidisciplinary approach which integrating psychology, humanities and social sciences toward a comprehensive understanding of these concepts.

AbstrakKajian ini menyelidik penggunaan Pendekatan Domain dalam mengembangkan

aspek penaakulan moral dalam kalangan murid tingkatan empat di sebuah sekolah menengah luar bandar. Seramai 42 orang murid lelaki dan perempuan menjadi peserta kajian. Kajian ini dijalankan melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan reka bentuk penyelidikan tindakan. Penyelidik menggunakan model penyelidikan tindakan yang diperkenalkan oleh Kemmis & McTaggart (1988). Data dikumpul dengan menggunakan teknik temu bual kumpulan berfokus, pemerhatian, catatan jurnal dan rakaman video. Analisa data dibentuk secara bertema. Para pelajar telah didedahkan dengan domain moral serta domain konvensi sosial. Modul pengajaran telah digunakan dalam tiga gelung penyelidikan tindakan untuk menjawab soalan-soalan kajian. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan Pendekatan Domain mampu mengembangkan aspek penaakulan moral murid tingkatan empat serta mampu mengembangkan pemikiran moral. Ternyata dapatan kajian mempunyai implikasi yang penting kepada pedagogi pengajaran Pendidikan Moral. Kata kunci : domain moral, domain konvensi sosial, penaakulan moral

Abstract

This article aims at expressing the ability to ask teachers the questions of Pancasila and Civic Education in the learning process. This research was conducted at five high schools in the city of Padang involving 11 teachers as research informants. Data were collected through observation, interview and documentation techniques which were analyzed using a qualitative approach. The results showed that the type, level, and form of teacher questions were influenced by the material, classroom conditions and learning time so that it was found that the ability to ask teachers in the learning process was not optimal. This is because the questions asked by teachers are still at the highest level of C-3, namely application so that they have not been able to develop students’ high-level thinking skills. AbstrakIsu pendidikan yang melibatkan etika dan personaliti guru hangat dibincangkan pada pelbagai peringkat baik di media mahupun dalam kalangan pendidik sendiri. Bahkan masalah etika guru juga bakal menyumbang kepada beberapa masalah lain. Etika professional di kalangan guru pelatih dianggap penting kerana mereka perlu berkemampuan menjadi contoh teladan atau role model kepada pelajar di sekolah. Pengetauan dan penghayatan. Berdasarkan persoalan ini, artikel ini mengupas isu pengetahuan dan penghayatan etika profesional dalam kalangan guru pelatih. Dengan adanya kesedarang tentang pentingnya pengtahuan dan penghayatan etika profesional, ia dapat meningkatkan tahap kecekapan serta profesionalisme tenaga pengajar dan mengurangkan konflik dengan pihak-pihak lain sama ada pihak atasan atau pihak yang berada di bawah. ini kerana saha untuk melahirkan guru pelatih yang beretika adalah penting bagi membudayakan amalan beretika di sekolah bukan sahaja pelajar bahkan seluruh warga.

AbstrakKajian berbentuk analisis kandungan ini bertujuan untuk meneroka pandangan

bakal guru berhubung sejauhmana pembelajaran pengalaman dapat menyuntik semangat keguruan dalam diri mereka. Melalui aktiviti penjelajahan hutan, pengkaji meminta para peserta menulis refleksi tentang pembelajaran yang diperoleh hasil daripada pemikiran, perasaan, dan tindakan sepanjang menempuhi pengalaman tersebut. Berpandukan analisis kualitatif yang diperkenalkan oleh Charmaz, pengkaji membuat pengekodan awal dan pengekodan terfokus terhadap kesemua respons peserta. Dapatan menunjukkan bahawa aktiviti pembelajaran pengalaman memberi kesan terhadap penerapan nilai guru seperti yang dihasratkan oleh negara, khususnya Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. Selain itu, aktiviti ini juga didapati berupaya mengasah kemahiran insaniah terutamanya kemahiran komunikasi yang menjadi keperluan utama dalam bidang kerjaya guru. Berdasarkan maklum balas para peserta, beberapa cadangan penambahbaikan terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran pengalaman turut dikemukakan. Sebagai kesimpulan, penglibatan aktif bakal guru terhadap aktiviti yang dilaksanakan membolehkan mereka membuat eksperimentasi terhadap diri sendiri seterusnya mempelajari kemahiran, nilai, dan tingkah laku baru ke arah membentuk keperibadian warga pendidik. Abstrak Kesedaran terhadap teknologi memainkan satu peranan penting di dalam dunia

pendidikan untuk memastikan guru dan murid dan mengaplikasikan teknologi di dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran mengikut etika yang sebetulnya. Namun begitu, perkembangan teknologi yang begitu pesat telah mewujudkan jurang generasi yang telah menyebabkan konflik antara pengguna teknologi terutamanya aplikasi media sosial dengan melayari internet. Oleh itu, penekanan terhadap Netiquette (etika teknologi) haruslah diberikan sewajarnya kepada murid-murid sebagai satu panduan dan rujukan berguna semasa mereka berinteraksi menggunakan peranti teknologi terutamanya apabila melayari media sosial dengan menggunakan internet. Kajian ini telah dijalankan untuk mengkaji tahap kesedaran sikap dan amalan murid terhadap Netiquette. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kaedah tinjauan dengan menggunakan soal selidik Kesedaran Netiquette. Seramai 30 orang murid berumur 16 tahun dari Sekolah Menengah Agama telah dipilih dengan pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik pensampelan bertujuan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan skor min tahap kesedaran netiquette murid sekolah menengah agama secara keseluruhannya berada pada tahap kesedaran netiquette yang sederhana dengan min 3.39 dan sisihan piawai 0.174. Bahkan, analisis kesedaran aspek pengetahuan menujukan pada tahap sederhana dengan skor min 3.56 dan sisihan piawai 0.286. Manakala tahap sikap murid terhadap netiquette berada pada tahap kesedaran tertinggi dengan nilai min 3.85 dan sisihan piawai 0.413. Namun begitu tahap amalan murid terhadap netiquette berada pada tahap sederhana dengan nilai min 2.71 dan sisihan piawai 0.427. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap kesedaran murid di sebuah sekolah agama berada pada tahap sederhana dan dapatan kajian ini boleh dijadikan satu panduan dan langkah seterusnya kepada pihak sekolah untuk memastikan murid bersedia dengan pengetahuan sewajarnya sebelum mereka berinteraksi menggunakan teknologi untuk melayari media sosial menggunakan internet. AbstractService learning is essential elements in Higher Education Institutions. Our

Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has embedded service-learning subject in our education system as to create graduates who are holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced (Malaysia Education Blueprint-2015-2025). Hence, this study remarks the effectiveness of service-learning subject in enhancing the sense of responsibilities among private higher education institutions students. This quantitative study examined the effectiveness of service-learning by investigate the level of sense of responsibilities and attitudes toward community involvement. This study explored the student’s awareness of community issues and their sense of responsibility to become involved in community service. As a result, this research shows that service-learning doesn’t have a strong impact on the attitudes of the students towards either community awareness or sense of responsibilities. This study suggests that this service-learning subject still need to be revise and if possible, to be included in all core subjects, not only one subject for the whole programme. AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to review the conceptual of moral person from

the ancient code of ethics “Dharmasastra”. According to Marvin, there are 7 aspects that closely related to the concept of moral person and it’s to be sufficient to cover the whole spectrum of a moral person. This can be considered as basis for generating further discussion about the nature of moral personhood. The seven parts of moral person are as follows: moral behaviour, moral values, moral character, moral reason, moral emotion, moral identity, meta-moral characteristics. On the other perspectives, Dharmasastra which involves the facts about the code of ethics or righteous conduct of humankind which also describe the concept of moral person. In Manu: II: 4, there are no action of human without considering or involving the desire; whatever man done it is the result of the impulse of desire. From the review, the human instinct happens because of the force behind every action of a human being which is based on his own desire (kama). The natural desire of mankind was found to have enjoyment of wealth (material), emotional pleasure, sexual enjoyment and many more. This is correlate with the seven parts of the moral person as per stated earlier. In nutshell, every human being who exercises the three types of controls (control over the mind, control over the body, and control over the speech) in respect of all living beings secures real happiness, success in their life and will be considered as a moral person. Abstract

Creating people of high moral character and integrity who adhere to universal values based on moral principles is the ultimate goal of the Moral Education Curriculum. In this regard, the use of an appropriate approach to convey teaching is a key requirement. Such approaches need to be able to develop the moral domain set out in the Moral Education Secondary Curriculum Standard such as moral reasoning, moral emotion and moral behavior. This study discusses the integration of Caring Approach through Forum Theatre to develop the behavior of moral caring among students of Moral Education. Ways of Caring Approach namely modelling, dialogue, practice and certainty are integrated with Forum Theatre elements such as script development, anti-model acting, forums and acting intervention. The findings of the study show Forum Theatre is an appropriate technique to inculcate behavior of moral caring among students of Moral Education. PERSONAL GROWTH INITIATIVE IN RELATION TO LIFE SATISFACTION AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between personal growth initiative and life satisfaction from college students’ perception. It also aims to identify the level of college students’ personal growth initiative and their life satisfaction, as well as the influence of college students’ personal growth initiative on their perception of life satisfaction. This study involved 225 first-year college students from a public university. Data were collected by using self-report questionnaires. The finding showed that the level of personal growth and life satisfaction, both were at high levels. Regarding the relationship between personal growth initiative and life satisfaction, it was significantly positive. The results also indicated that personal growth initiative influenced life satisfaction among college students. Specifically, college students’ initiative on using resources and intentional behavior contributed their satisfaction of life. Overall, this study implies that college students who actively develop a set of skills to intentionally improve themselves does influence how they globally judge the satisfaction in their lives as a whole. AbstrakKajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai murni yang diterapkan oleh guru

praperkhidmatan serta penghayatannya oleh murid dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran BahasaMelayu. Tiga orang guru praperkhidmatan dari Institut Pendidikan Guru yang mengajar Bahasa Melayu semasa praktikum fasa 1 dijadikan sebagai peserta kajian. Kajian ini dijalankan berasaskan Pendekatan Penerapan Nilai. Kaedah pemerhatian, temu bual dan semakan dokumen digunakan untuk mengumpul data dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa peserta kajian berupaya mengaitkan nilai murni di dalam kelas semasa sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Nilai murni diberi penekanan dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Nilai murni merangkumi aspek kerohanian, kemanusiaan dan kewarganegaraan kebangsaan dan global yang sewajarnya menjadi amalan dalam kehidupan harian murid-murid. Namun demikian, hanya sebahagian nilai yang kerap diterapkan oleh dua orang peserta kajian dalam pengajaran bahasa Melayu berdasarkan sumber nilai dalam buku teks. Peserta kajian lebih kerap menggunakan kaedah penerapan nilai secara tidak langsung berbanding kaedah penerapan nilai secara langsung bagi menerapkan nilai dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu. Penilaian terhadap isi nilai yangditerapkan dalam aktiviti bahasa juga kurang diberi tumpuan oleh peserta kajian. Murid pula kurang diberi peluang dan masa yang mencukupi untuk penghayatan nilai murni kerana peserta kajian kurang mahir merancang strategi penerapan nilai yang baik kerana terikat dengan keperluan untuk menggabungkan kemahiran yang banyak. Implikasi kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa amalan penerapan nilai dalam kalangan guru praperkhidmatan perlu dimantapkan kerana guru wajar memiliki kemahiran dan kepakaran bagi menghubungkanpengetahuan, kemahiran dan nilai sebagai agen penyebar nilai untuk melahirkan modal insan yang harmonis dan seimbang.

AbstrakKertas konsep ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti tahap amalan kepimpinan

distributif dalam kalangan guru besar dan hubungannya dengan prestasi kerja guru. Kertas konsep ini adalah berasaskan Teori Kepimpinan Distributif oleh Spillane (2006) dan Standard Prestasi Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (2016),. Dapatan kajian lepas dari kajian literatur menunjukkan tahap amalan kepimpinan distributif guru besar dan tahap prestasi kerja guru secara keseluruhan adalah berada pada tahap yang tinggi dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan. Kajian lepas dari kajian literatur juga mendapati tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan terhadap tahap amalan kepimpinan distributif guru besar mengikut faktor umur, gred jawatan, tempoh perkhidmatan dan opsyen, manakala wujudnyaperbezaan signifikan terhadap tahap prestasi kerja guru mengikut faktor pengetahuan professional, kemahiran professional, nilai professional, kreativiti dan inovasi, permuafakatan strategik, komunikasi, pengurusan kelas/aktiviti/program dan pengurusan sumber pendidikan. Kertas konsep ini diharapkan dapat memberi pemahaman serta membantu para pemimpin mengadaptasi kepimpinan distributive berdasarkan bentuk cabaran yang dihadapi pemimpin sekolah dalam memberi kepuasan kerja kepada semua guru. Kajian ini juga akan membuktikan kepada keperluan kepimpinan distributif terhadap peningkatan komitmen guru seterusnya peningkatan prestasi kerja guru dalam meningkatkan prestasi sekolah rendah.

AbstractAn intergenerational gap results from extended families being geographically

separated, and age-segregation within communities in terms of residential planning, recreational facilities and educational institutions. This segregation has resulted in a serious breakdown of interaction and communication among the generations. The consequences of this issue are important to social function and organization in our society. This paper aims to produce an intergenerational model between elderly and children. This is to bridge the interaction gap between the two generations. The method adopts the NGT (Nominal Group Technique) and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). NGT is used to identify the suitable intergenerational activities to bridge the gap. Then, ISM produced a model by integrating experts’ opinion pertaining to the subject. Ten (10) activities were identified to be put into a model via ISM aid software. The derived model indicated relationships among activities and these activities were distributed into 4 quadrants. This shows that intergenerational activities for the elderly must not only take consideration of multiple activities but also the integration among the activities. The Model of intergenerational programmes can be the basis of developing and implementing intergenerational activities guidelines in Malaysia.

AbstractKertas konsep ini adalah mengenai kepentingan pendidkan karakter dalam

penerapan nilai, etika dan sahsiah dalam konteks masyarakat berbilang kaum di Malaysia. Pendidikan merupakan agenda besar yang mempengaruhi kualiti dan kecemerlangan ketamadunan sesebuah negara bangsa. Bagi merealisasikan pendidikan yang berkualiti, guru dan sekolah memainkan peranan penting dalam usaha untuk menerapkan nilai-nilai positif dalam diri setiap pelajar. Melalui pembangunan karakter, guru dapat membangun nilai dan sikap positif, kemahiran dan tingkah laku yang merangkumi sifat hormat-menghormati, kepimpinan, motivasi, daya tahan, kawalan kendiri, keyakinan diri, kemahiran sosial dan emosi dan kemahiran berkomunikasi. Ini selaras dengan inspirasi falsafah pendidikan negara iaitu bagi melahirkan pelajar yang seimbang dan harmonis dari segi intelek, rohani, emosi, jasmani dan sosial.

Dalam membuat perubahan yang positif, peranan pemimpin sekolah lebih dicabarkan dengan mempunyai matlamat dan visi yang ternyata dan mudah dicapai, membawa perubahan yang besar dalam proses Pdpc dan memperjuangkan pembangunan profesional guru.Tujuan kajian ini adalah mengenalpasti tahap amalan kepimpinan teknologi guru besar dan hubungannya dengan tahap Pengetahuan Teknologi Pedagogi Kandungan guru di SJKT daerah Bahau. Kajian ini menerangkan bagaimana guru besar mempraktikkan amalan kepimpinan teknologi di sekolah. Oleh yang demikian, elemen-elemen amalan kepimpinan teknologi yang diterangkan melalui dapatan kajian yang boleh menjadi rujukan kepada guru besar di sekolah. Kajian ini juga membantu guru besar membuat penilaian kendiri dan refleksi kendiri impak terhadap para guru dan prestasi murid. Kajian kuantatif melalui kaedah tinjauan telah dijalankan untuk mengumpul data daripada satu set populasi kajian. Bilangan sampel yang dipilih bagi tujuan kajian ini adalah seramai 113 orang guru di SJKT daerah Bahau. Untuk menganalisis data, pakej SPSS, Statistical Package for Social Sciences telah digunakan. Segala maklumat adiperolehi daripada instrument kajian soal selidik dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian komputer SPSS 22.0 For Windows. Dua jenis penganalisan data yang terlibat dalam kajian ini iaitu Statistik Deskriptif dan Statistik Inferensi. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepimpinan teknologi guru besar dengan tahap Pengetahuan Teknologi Pedagogi Kandungan guru di SJKT daerah Bahau. Kesimpulannya, guru besar sebagai pemimpin sekolah perlu mengubah amalan kepimpinan mereka daripada menggunakan amalan tradisional kepada amalan kepimpinan yang efektif yang dikenali sebagai pemimpin teknologi dalam meningkatkan tahap penguasaan Pengetahuan Teknologi Pedagogi Kandungan guru di SJKT daerah Bahau.

AbstractIndigenous knowledge or local wisdom could be explored as a “true”

knowledge dealing with modern “scientific” standards. The values of local wisdom become a transformative tool in improving the quality of human resources as the human capital of a country and the quality. This study aims to explore the values of local wisdom in the Grebeg Maulud tradition in Solo, Central Java, Indonesia. Grebeg Maulud is an annual march to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). The research employed a qualitative approach with ethnographic method. The data were taken from 6 informants who were chosen by purposive sampling consisting of the Solo City Culture and Tourism Official, community leaders, tourists, and the Solo residents. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the values contained in the Grebeg Maulud tradition are: religious, responsibility, peace, social care, creativity, and hard work. Therefore, the values of local wisdom through the tradition of Grebeg Maulud in carrying out the function of character education are essential to instill in the community. Moreover, fostering local wisdom is one of the efforts to strengthen the goals of a nation and character building in society rather than private and pedagogic activity.

AbstractThe aim of this study is to discover the process of moral psychology

by using short film as a stimulation in teaching and learning Moral Education. This qualitative research was conducted by using the action research design method. The Zuber-Skerrit action research model was utilised to study the effectiveness of short film in unleashing moral motivation in student. A total of 6 participants were used to collect data. Data was collected through interviews, observation, journal writing and video recording. The data was analyzed using a theme analysis method. Students were involved in short film watching and analyzing film. Five aspects of moral motivation that students have learned are responsibility towards the decisions and actions taken, commitment to moral principles, prioritizing moral values compared to others, rejecting elements that provide personal gain and act based on moral and ethical element. Conclusions from the study show that watching and analyzing short film can be used as one of the methods of teaching Moral Education to uncover elements of moral psychology. The implication of this study provides important inputs in the teaching and learning process of Moral Education where such teaching methods can be used by Moral Education teachers to ensure more meaningful teaching.

AbstrakWacana mengenai identiti etnik di Malaysia sama ada dalam ruang akademik

mahupun media massa hari ini adalah cenderung berkisar kepada tiga kumpulan etnik utama iaitu Melayu, Cina dan India. Walaupun mempunyai kesedaran etnik yang tinggi namun, tidak ramai yang mengenali atau mengetahui tentang kumpulan etnik-etnik minoriti. .Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan dua realiti sosial iaitu realiti sosial tafsiran autoriti dan tafsiran harian untuk mencapai dua objektif utama (1) Mengkaji kefahaman pelajar Iban mengenai identiti minoriti di Malaysia, (2) Mengenal pasti pengalaman identiti sosial kumpulan minoriti di Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. Penggunaan pendekatan ini bertujuan untuk melihat kepada penerimaan terhadap kumpulan etnik minoriti melalui pengalaman sebenar individu dalam kehidupan seharian. Pemilihan subjek kajian dijalankan berdasarkan kaedah persampelan bertujuan (purposive sampling) dan seramai lima orang pelajar semester lapan yang merupakan etnik Iban telah dipilih. Hasil kajian menunjukkan responden mempunyai pengetahuan akan identiti etnik minoriti di Malaysia dan mengamalkan sikap terbuka dengan saling hormat menghormati antara satu sama lain. Dapatan kajian juga menunjukkan mereka mengalami cabaran psikologi berbentuk persepsi negatif dan sikap prejudis etnik lain mengenai etnik Iban hingga membentuk stereotaip terhadap etnik Iban kerana sikap etnosentrisme yang keterlaluan. Kesimpulannya, daripada kajian menunjukkan bahawa pendekatan dua realiti sosial ini didapati berjaya merungkai setiap persoalan kajian kerana didapati tafsiran autoriti yang diberikan kepada kumpulan etnik ini tidak bersesuaian dengan pengalaman peribadi responden yang dikaji. Implikasi kajian menunjukkan bahawa nilai toleransi perlu ada dalam diri setiap individu untuk pembinaan identiti kebangsaan dan perpaduan nasional.

AbstractThe paper examined the impact of customer relationship management

in Nigeria telecommunication sector. How call center care and cater for its customers in other to gain loyalty and retain its valuable existing customers. It also emphasizes the benefit of customer relationship management on customer loyalty.It also considered the independent variables which are Customer Relationship Management process, Customer Information Management and Responsiveness as an important factor to the success of any service provider. Critical details about each variables and how it could be implemented to achieve success are well explained. The impacts of customer relationship management on customer loyalty are also in details and the research gap.The research methodology approach used for this dissertation is quantitative approach which entails a number-based study that produces a quantifiable data and the reason and important of for using quantitative method are in details. The sampling size analysis was also explain with the use of 500 respondents selected to represent the population and the sampling technique use to select the respondents are simple random sampling technique which indicate that the respondent we selected randomly while distributing the questionnaire. The data collection instrument for this dissertation is questionnaire and is well explained and the decision to use questionnaire are given. Statistic tools use is statistical package for social science (SPSS) by using it to collect data and analyzing it. Pearson correlation are also used to analyze the relationship between the independent and dependent variables, multiple regressions analysis are also used to analyze the impact of the independent variables on the dependent variable and frequency distribution are used to analyze the responses of the respondents. Analyses of the data are fully done and well explained starting from the reliability result test, hypotheses test which include the Pearson correlation, multiple regression analysis was also done on the four variables .However, based on the research there are very few research conducted on this topic and there should be further research on this topic in the future

AbstrakKajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti keperluan perubahan dalam Program

Pendidikan Inklusif bagi murid berkeperluan khas yang bermasalah pembelajaran. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif yang mana melibatkan lima buah sekolah rendah di daerah Alor Gajah yang mana guru-guru dan pegawai pembantu am yang terlibat dalam pendidikan khas. Analisis deskriptif dan inferensi telah digunakan untuk menguji persoalan kajian menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 25. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara tahap pencapaian prestasi murid berkeperluan khas di dalam kelas aliran perdana berdasarkan tingkah laku, kemahiran bersosial dan displin. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat satu permasalahan yang diperolehi dalam keperluan-keperluan khusus yang diperlukan oleh para guru dalam menginklusifkan murid berkeperluan khas. Beberapa langkah penambahbaikan yang diperolehi dan ianya boleh diimplimentasikan dari dikaji ini. Dapatan kajian telah menunjukkan keperluan perubahan program pendidikan khas ini kurang berjaya kerana terdapat banyak cabaran dan halangan. Oleh yang demikian, cadangan dan penambahbaikkan perlu dilakukan bagi memastikan program pendidikan inklusif ini berjaya. Kesimpulannya, keperluan perubahan program pendidikan inklusif ini melibatkan semua pihak. Ia bertujuan untuk membentuk kemampuan berdikari bagi setiap murid berkeperluan khas agar murid-murid ini mendapat pendidikan setaraf dengan murid-murid normal. Hasil penelitian dari kertas konsep ini telah menunjukkan banyak cabaran dan halangan di dalam kelas PPI untuk MBK. Kejayaan yang diharapkan dalam peningkatan pencapaian akedemik, sahsiah diri dan kemampuan berdikari seiring dengan murid normal yang lain.

AbstractBeing a student amid the rapid development of technology now has

various challenges. It takes “action” that is not just a concept but also an actual implementation. The purpose of this article is to investigate how student organizations play a role in re-positioning students amid opinions that, increasingly question their existence as educated young people and also their life in a wave of an industrial revolution which is said to have reached the fourth industrial revolution. Research is a qualitative study using a phenomenological approach. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the survey resulted that through student organizations, students had a way to explain their existence. Also, through work programs in student organizations, it is beneficial for students to develop, use, and obtain personal skills that can improve their quality as a student. This study concludes that student organizations become a place for students to be able to learn to develop themselves and also social attachments.

AbstrakKertas Konsep ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti tahap amalan kepimpinan

distributif dalam kalangan guru besar dan hubungannya dengan kepimpinan guru di sekolah. Kertas konsep ini adalah berasaskan Teori Kepimpinan Distributif (Gordon, 2005) dan Teori Kepimpinan Guru (Katzenmeyer & Muller, 2001). Dapatan kajian lepas dari kajian literatur menunjukkan tahap amalan kepimpinan distributif guru besar dan kepimpinan guru di sekolah berada pada tahap yang tinggi dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan. Kajian lepas dari kajian literatur juga mendapati tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan terhadap tahap amalan kepimpinan distributif guru besar mengikut faktor umur, tahap pendidikan, tempoh perkhidmatan dan jawatan yang disandang, manakala wujudnya perbezaan signifikan terhadap kepimpinan guru mengikut faktor umur, tahap pendidikan dan tempoh perkhidmatan. Kertas konsep ini diharapkan dapat merealisasikan anjakan ke-5 PPPM 2013 – 2025 iaitu memastikan kepimpinan berprestasi tinggi ditempatkan di setiap sekolah. Selain itu, kertas konsep ini juga diharapkan dapat memberi implikasi kepada unit pembangunan profesional guru terutamanya dari segi perancangan latihan kepimpinan guru besar. Kesimpulannya, amalan kepimpinan distributif dalam kalangan guru besar adalah penting dan mempunyai hubungan dengan kepimpinan guru di sekolah.

AbstrakBerdasarkan Laporan Kebahagiaan Dunia 2019, tahap kebahagiaan rakyat Malaysia

telah menurun dari tempat ke-35 ke tempat ke-80. Persekitaran yang kurang bahagia akan melahirkan kanak-kanak yang kurang bahagia juga. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang hubungan antara emosi positif dan interaksi sosial terhadap tahap kebahagiaan dalam kalangan pelajar sekolah rendah. Populasi kajian melibatkan 3687 orang murid yang terdiri daripada 5 buah sekolah rendah Batu Pahat, Johor. Seramai 351 orang murid dari 5 buah sekolah rendah ini dipilih secara strata berkadaran sebagai responden kajian ini. Soal selidik digunakan sebagai instrumen dalam kajian ini untuk mengumpulkan data kuantitatif daripada responden. Tahap emosi positif akan dikenalpasti melalui Emotion Regulation Questionnaire yang dibangunkan oleh Gross, J.J., & John, O.P. (2003). Interpersonal Communication Skills Inventory yang dibangunkan oleh Millard J. Bienvenu, Sr. (1969) digunakan dalam kajian ini untuk mengumpulkan data tentang tahap interaksi sosial responden. Tahap kebahagiaan responden dikenalpasti melalui soal selidik PERMA yang dibangunkan oleh Martin Seligman. Kajian rintis telah dijalankan untuk memastikan kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan item soal selidik yang digunakan dalam kajian ini. Perisisan SPSS versi 22.0 digunakan untuk menganalisis dan memproses data yang dikumpulkan. Analisis deskriptif seperti skor min dijalankan untuk menganalisis tahap emosi positif, tahap interaksi sosial dan tahap kebahagiaan responden. Analisis inferensi seperti ujian kolerasi bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pembolehubah bersandar (tahap kebahagiaan) dan pembolehubah tidak bersandar (tahap emosi positif dan tahap interaksi sosial). Dapatan kajian kertas konseptual ini dapat memberi rujukan kepada para pendidik dan ibu bapa untuk meluaskan pengetahuan mereka dalam melahirkan kanak-kanak yang gembira dan bersikap positif. Dengan mengetahui hubungan antara emosi positif dan interaksi sosial dengan tahap kebahagiaan, pendidik dan ibu bapa akan memupuk amalan baik dalam kalangan murid sejak kecil lagi. Rohani yang positif dapat mempengaruhi seseorang berusaha menjadi modal insan yang berjaya. Dengan melahirkan modal insan yang mempunyai rohani sihat, maka masa depan negara kita juga akan terjamin.

AbstrakKajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti isu yang berkaitan dengan kepimpinan

teknologi pengetua. Pengetua sebagai pemimpin teknologi di sekolah mestilah sanggup berhadapan dengan tugas yang mencabar dalam mengaplikasikan teknologi bagi meningkatkan kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Dalam konteks ini, pengkaji memfokuskan kepada kesediaan guru bagi menyediakan Rancangan Pengajaran Harian secara atas talian iaitu e-RPH. Pengetua yang mempunyai kepimpinan teknologi yang tinggi akan mempengaruhi tahap penggunaan erph di sekolah. Pengetua hendaklah memastikan dirinya dilengkapi dengan ilmu dan kemahiran ICT yang baik supaya menjadi contoh kepada guru-guru bagi mengimplementasikan e-RPH di sekolah. Pengetua perlu tahu bagaimana bentuk dan pelaksanaan yang terbaik bagi memastikan pelaksanaan e-RPH ini diterima oleh semua dengan cara yang berkesan. Bertolak daripada masalah penggunaan rancangan pengajaran harian yang menggunakan kaedah buku dan cetakan, pengkaji telah melakukan pemerhatian bagi mendapatkan maklum balas bagi menjawab pelbagai persoalan berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan e-rph di sekolah. Pengkaji juga berusaha meninjau sejauh mana pelaksanaan e-rph dapat di aplikasikan menggunakan implementasi ICT di sekolah khususnya daerah Pekan, Pahang. Kajian ini dijalankan menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif berbentuk kajian tinjauan dengan menggunakan instrumen soal selidik yang telah diuji kesahan dan kebolehpercayaannya.

AbstractThe development of science and technology such as the internet and

social media which is providing not only convenience but also having educative content for its users especially in political context. The effectiveness of political communication via the internet as an inseparable part of political context is expected to be a path of political education for citizens. Besides that, the internet as an information transmitter is able to build citizen proximity in the political state and to increase citizens’ political participation. Besides educating the citizens to own digital-wise trait and use internet independently both as a sender and receiver, internet also acts as communication space for any of political activities in this modern democracy era.The significant implication of the internet optimalisation would create such smart citizens. This is as one of the widely-acclaimed objectives among democracy admirers. This study uses qualitative approach tackling critical discourse analysis. The analysis is supported by international articles, scientific studies, as well as sufficient library studies.

Kajian ini mengadaptasi instrumen The Dys-lexiac Early Screening Test (DEST) melalui kaedah Terjemahan Brislin dan mem-bentuk set Ujian Awal Pengesahan Disleksia (UAPD). Terdapat 10 subujian dalam set ini yang menguji ingatan memori, pengetahuan, kemahiran motor halus, deria persepsi dan keseimbangan tubuh. Sekolah yang terdekat akan dipilih untuk men-jadi lokasi kajian akan dipilih secara rawak. Data kajian dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan peratusan. Peratusan bilangan kanak-kanak yang berpotensi dislek-sia akan dapat dikenal pasti melalui subujian-subujian. Kajian ini akan dijalankan bagi menunjukkan keperluan pengesanan simptom disleksia di peringkat praseko-lah. Pendedahan kepada guru dan perancangan cara menangani kesukaran yang dihadapi oleh kanak-kanak disleksia melalui aktiviti yang bersesuaian hendaklah dilaksanakan supaya masalah ini dapat diatasi segera.

Abstrak Kertas konsep ini untuk mengenalpasti tahap amalan kepimpinan moral dalam

kalangan guru besar dan hubungannya dengan tahap motivasi guru sekolah rendah kebangsaan. Kertas konsep ini berasaskan Model Kepimpinan Moral Northouse dan Teori Dua Faktor Herzberg. Dapatan kajian dari kajian literature menunjukkan tahap amalan kepimpinanan moral guru besar dan tahap motivasi guru sekolah rendah kebangsaan secara keseluruhan adalah berada pada tahap yang tinggi dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan. Kajian lepas dari kajian literatur juga mendapati tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan terhadap amalan kepimpinan moral guru besar mengikut faktor umur, tahap pendidikan, tempoh perkhidmatan dan jawatan yang disandang, manakala wujudnya perbezaan signifikan terhadap tahap motivasi guru mengikut faktor umur, tahap pendidikan dan tempoh perkhidmatan. Kertas konsep ini diharapkan dapat merealisasikan anjakan ke-5 PPPM 2013-2015 iaitu memastikan kepimpinan berprestasi tinggi ditempatkan di setiap sekolah. Selain itu, kertas konsep ini juga diharapkan dan memberi implikasi kepada unit pembangunan professional guru terutamanya dari segi perancangan latihan kepimpinan guru besar. Kesimpulannya, amalan kepimpinan moral dalam kalangan guru besar adalah penting dan mempunyai hubungan dengan motivasi guru sekolah rendah kebangsaan.

AbstractRapidly learning technology use has evolved remarkable changed in student

behavior and attitudes. Pancasila dan civic education (PPKn), a mandatory subject matter of moral and character education in the curriculum, has been intended to integrate between civic competencies, including knowledge, skills, and values and applied technology into teaching and learning practice. This study aims to explore students’ readiness in an urban area for adapting learning technology. Based on the qualitative approach, the data were taken from 105 junior high school students in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. The data collection technique used interview and questionnaires which were analyzed by interactive analysis. The result shows that the students’ readiness to use learning technology categorized in “good” level. Accordingly, there is an opportunity to develop learning materials in the form of digital resources according to students’ development. Moreover, the presence of learning technology could be used to support gain learning outcomes.

AbstrakMenuntut ilmu merupakan suatu kewajipan yang dituntut dalam Islam ke

atas umatnya bagi menambah dan meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan. Antara aspek yang perlu dijaga dan diaplikasi dalam menuntut ilmu adalah adab. Kepentingan menjaga adab dalam menuntut ilmu adalah bagi memperoleh keberkatan Allah SWT terhadap ilmu yang dipelajari. Penjagaan adab dalam menuntut ilmu dapat melahirkan penuntut ilmu yang mempunyai akhlak yang baik dan jiwa yang murni. Hal ini kerana masalah sosial dalam kalangan penuntut ilmu di institusi pendidikan seperti buli, bergaduh, mencuri, menghisap rokok, ponteng sekolah sering berlaku disebabkan ilmu yang dipelajari tidak mempengaruhi jiwa penuntut ilmu kerana adab tidak dijaga. Justeru, kajian ini dijalankan bagi menyenaraikan adab yang perlu dijaga dan dilakukan oleh penuntut ilmu dalam mencapai maqasid menuntutu ilmu bagi memperoleh keberkatan. Metodologi dalam menjalankan penyelidikan ini adalah kualitatif dengan menganalisis kandungan daripada buku-buku dan kitab-kitab serta laman sesawang yang dipercayai kandungannya bagi memperoleh maklumat dan dapatan berkaitan dengan penyelidikan ini. Hasilnya, penuntut ilmu perlu mengagungkan ilmu, menghormati guru, memuliakan kitab dan tidak memilih ilmu sendiri. Menjadi tanggungjawab sebagai penuntut ilmu untuk menjaga adab dalam menuntut ilmu bagi memperoleh keberkatan Allah SWT.

AbstractThe implementation of character education is ideally not limited to the

classroom, but includes the entire educational environment. In the context of Indonesian education, character education is still based on the process of moral knowing that is identical to the transfer of knowledge in the classroom, so that the resulting output has not touched the changes in behavior. Meanwhile, the nature of character education is an effort to harmonize between individual students and the surrounding social environment, so that every attitude and action can be in line with the expectations of the community, and can even advance people’s lives with their environmental awareness. To answer these demands, the implementation of education in schools must be developed through various businesses that not only rely on the classroom, but also outside the classroom. Efforts to character education outside the classroom can be done through outbound. This study aims to determine (a) the process of planning and implementing outbound-based character education in developing environmental awareness in the tourist area of West Sumatra; (b) identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of implementation; and (c) knowing students’ responses to the implementation of outbound-based character education in several schools in West Sumatra, especially regarding the value of environmental awareness. The results of this study indicate that the development of outbound-based character education needs to be supported by many stakeholders, in planning and implementation, especially community social organizations in the tourist area of West Sumatra. As a supporting factor the seriousness of some schools to carry out outbound-based character education, while the inhibiting factor is the weak ability of teachers to administer outbound. Student responses on the implementation of character education based on outbound, very enthusiastic, this is evidenced by their desire that outbound will still be implemented in schools.

AbstrakKajian ini dilaksanakan bagi mengenalpasti keberhasilan aplikasi kuiz Kahoot

dalam pembelajaran Matematik sekolah rendah. Kajian ini dijalankan terhadap murid tahun 5 di sebuah di daerah Klang. Reka bentuk kajian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen di mana kaedah konvensional digunakan bagi kumpulan kawalan dan penggunaan aplikasi kuiz Kahoot bagi kumpulan rawatan. Pencapaian murid dianalisis dengan menggunakan ujian pra dan ujian pasca. Borang soal selidik digunakan bagi mengetahui tahap minat murid terhadap pembelajaran Matematik menggunakan aplikasi kuiz Kahoot. Seramai 40 orang murid terlibat sebagai sampel dalam kajian ini. Seramai 20 orang murid digolongkan dalam dalam kumpulan kawalan dan 20 orang murid digolongkan dalam kumpulan rawatan. Ujian-t digunakan bagi menganalisis perbezaan min pencapaian dan pengalaman pembelajaran Matematik. Dapatan kajian membuktikan bahawa penggunaan aplikasi kuiz Kahoot memberi kesan positif terhadap pencapaian dan minat murid. Keputusan ujian kolerasi pula menunjukkan bahawa nilai pekali kolerasi, r yang diperolehi ialah 0.739. Hasil ujian kolerasi ini membuktikan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara penggunaan aplikasi kuiz Kahoot dengan minat murid terhadap penyelesaian soalan pecahan. Aplikasi kuiz Kahoot juga sesuai digunakan sebagai alternatif kepada kaedah sedia ada dalam konteks pengalaman pembelajaran. Bagi memastikan dapatan yang lebih konsisten, kajian ini haruslah dijalankan lebih komprehensif.

AbstrakAmalan kepimpinan instruksional oleh pengetua di kesemua sekolah ini perlu

supaya sekolah itu dapat ditadbir urus dengan berkesan dari awal bulan sehingga akhir tahun. Justeru, kajian yang dijalankan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti amalan kepimpinan instruksional yang diamalkan oleh pengetua di lima buah sekolah menengah di Bandar Banting. Selain itu kajian ini dapat memberi kefahaman bahawa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara pengetua dengan warga sekolah yang akan memberikan kesan kepada kejayaan sesebuah sekolah. Sampel kajian ini adalah terdiri daripada 127 orang guru yang sedang berkhidmat di 5 buah sekolah menengah di bandar Banting di negeri Selangor. Soal selidik digunakan oleh pengkaji sebagai instrumen kajian. Kaedah yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS. Untuk menganalisis data, kaedah analisis statistik jenis deskriptif dan inferensi (korelasi Pearson) digunakan untuk menjawab soalan kajian. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pengetua telah menunjukkan komitmen yang tinggi dalam dimensi penyelarasan tugasan staf berbanding dengan dimensi pengelolaan tugasan staf, pembahagian tugasan staf dan penilaian tugasan staf. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dimensi-dimensi terhadap amalan kepimpinan Instruksional pengetua dimana pengetua telah mengamalkan dimensi pengelolaan, pembahagian, penyelarasan dan penilaian tugasan yang berkesan dalam kepimpinannya di sekolah menengah di Bandar Banting yang dikaji. Pengkaji mengutarakan cadangan kajian lanjutan dan penambahbaikan amalan kepimpinan instruksional pengetua di sekolah menengah. Dapatan kajian ini dapat menjadikan panduan dan rujukan kepada penyelidik-penyelidik lain tentang kepentingan seseorang pemimpin melakukan perubahan dalam amalan kepimpinan pengetua supaya visi dan misi yang ditetapkan dapat dicapai.

AbstractService learning (SL) is provides an ideal opportunity to explore a pedagogical methodology that establishes an operational relationship between theory and practice and provides students with the opportunity to learn while contributing to the community. Studies have reported that as an innovative and distinct instructional method it benefits both students and communities alike. However, despite of this, its effectiveness as an educational practice on social awareness is still debated. This paper proposed a systematic review of the literature on the effectiveness of Service learning in promoting social awareness among students. A systematic on-line electronic literature was conducted for the period between 2015 and 2019. The main purpose was to identify peer-reviewed journal articles on Service Learning provided with the primary or secondary outcome on the evaluation of student Service Learning experiences on community or social participation. Following a thorough search, 183 publications, 67 peer-reviewed publications, findings were organized according to research objectives and geographical distribution, research samples, research methodologies and main findings. General results indicated that the research methodologies used tended to be qualitative and mixed, while the results demonstrated variety of sample especially from higher education. The instruments used were mainly interviews and questionnaires. This systematic review confirmed two major findings; The benefits of this work was disseminated for all participants and samples participation on social service. However selected studies reviews that Service Learning enhance their community participation and have a positive effect on promoting social awareness among students.

AbstractOne of the appropriate learning models used for Civic Education (PKn)

learning in this era is the Project Citizen Model. Civic Education Learning aims to create students to be good citizens. According to PKn , good citizens are citizens who have 3 (three) competencies, including: 1). Citizen Knowledge (Civic Knowledge), 2). The attitude or character of citizens (Civic Disposition), and 3). Civic Skills, both intelligence skills and participatory skills.Project Citizen learning model requires active, creative, collaborative, disciplined students, and the ability of students to establish good relationships with the community and government officials. This article discusses the potential of the project citizen model in developing the moral values of students based on Pancasila as the View of Life of Indonesia and as the Foundation of the Republic of Indonesia. 215 students were involved in this qualitative study. The data were collected using methods: Interviews, observations, video recordings, documents. The data were then analyzed through theme analysis techniques. The results of the study prove that the stages of the citizen project model to be an appropriate learning model to develop students’ moral values and to stimulate aspects of moral thinking, moral emotion, moral action, social care, critical and creative thinking, and proficiency in solving problems to produce a policy offered to society and government.

AbstrakKadazandusun merupakan masyarakat yang minat terhadap aktiviti nyanyian.

Ini jelas dengan penciptaan lagu yang terus meningkat dan turut dikongsikan dalam laman sosial seperti youtube. Kecenderungan terhadap kegiatan budaya seperti ini pasti mempunyai impak kepada masyarakat ini. Sehubungan dengan itu, kertas kerja ini mengali nilai-nilai pendidikan moral yang diterapkan dalam lagu-lagu terpilih masyarakat Kadazandusun. Kajian ini akan memfokuskan kepada lagu bertema ‘Ibu’ dan yang menggunakan Bahasa Kadazandusun. Analisis data kajian menggunakan model Fungsi Pendidikan (Rosliah Kiting, 2016). Analsis kajian mendapati lagu-lagu bertemakan ibu dalam masyarakat Kadazandusun menerapkan nilai mencintai, menghormati dan menghargai. Pendidikan moral ini diterapkan melalui sikap, perlakuan dan luahan perasaan yang dikisahkan dalam lagu. kiasan dan secara santai. Penerapan pendidikan moral seperti ini menggambarkan ketinggian peradaban dan martabat anak terhadap seorang insan bergelar ibu. Pendidikan seperti ini dapat melahirkan generasi yang menghormati dan menghargai ibu sesuai dengan peribahasa ‘surga di telapak kaki ibu’.

AbstrakDusun Tindal merupakan etnik yang majoritinya menduduki daerah Kota

Belud. Etnik ini kaya dengan puisi yang masih disebarkan secara lisan umpamanya talaala yang menjadi warisan sangat bernilai. Salah satu nilai dalam puisi ini adalah unsur-unsur moral menggunakan bahasa beretika dan secara bersopan santun dalam menyampaikan sesuatu nasihat, teguran, sindiran, larangan ataupun hiburan. Sehubungan dengan itu, kertas kerja ini akan menganalisis nilai moral yang diterapkan dalam sebelas rangkap talaala daripada informan Dusun Tindal yang diperolehi melalui temu bual dalam kerja lapangan. Analsis kajian mendapati talaala tersebut menerapkan nilai kerajinan, ketekunan, hormat-menghormati dan menghargai. Unsur-unsur moral ini diterapkan melalui kiasan dan secara santai. Penerapan nilai moral seperti ini menggambarkan etnik Dusun Tindal menggamalkan kesantunan berbahasa yang mencerminkan ketinggian peradaban dan martabat etnik ini untuk memastikan nilai pendidikan yang diterapkan berkesan dalam usaha membentuk generasi muda yang berakhlak.

AbstractIn most of the societies, the decision making power of women is limited due

to gender perspectives and cultural practices. Similarly in Indian society, patriarchy ideology is very common in which men are the main breadwinners and decision-maker of the family but this belief is gradually changing. Thus, this study aims to examine the degree of participation of professional Indian women in the decision making power in the family on the aspects of career choice, marriage (selecting of future husband) and domestic chores. Fifteen Indian women, who work in different professional sectors and live in Kuala Lumpur and the Selangor area, were selected for this study. A qualitative approach using one to one in-depth interview method was used to gather the primary data. The findings show that love marriages becoming popular and majority of the Indian women have full freedom and power to choose their life partner but it still depends on the type and background of the family. However, opposition and challenges faced by Indian women before marriage because their partner is from different sub-ethnic. Moreover, Indian women have the freedom to choose career of their interest but there are also a few who are not able to choose based on their preference because career choice was decided by the elders in the family. In terms of household management, Indian women are able to participate equally in decision making regarding financial aspect and they have more power on children affairs. The factors that enable Indian women to take part in decision making include of their educational and employment status, personality and characteristics of women, family practice and freedom or support gave by their husband. This study also found that Indian women felt honoured, being appreciated and they gain more confidence when able to participate in the decision making process.

AbstrakPelaksanaan Middle Years Programme International Baccalaureate (MYPIB) di 10 buah IB World Schools (IBWS) KPM merupakan antara usaha Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysian (KPM) dalam melahirkan modal insan unggul melalui kerangka pembelajaran MYPIB serta standard dan keperluan yang digariskan dalam dokumen Programme and Standard Practices. Penerapan IB Learner Profile adalah selaras dengan hasrat Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2025 untuk melahirkan murid yang mempunyai pengetahuan, kemahiran berfikir, kemahiran memimpin, kemahiran dwibahasa, etika dan kerohanian serta identiti nasional. 10 ciri IB Learner Profile tersebut adalah (1) bersifat ingin tahu (inquirers), (2) berpengetahuan (knowledgable), (3) pemikir (thinkers), (4) mahir berkomunikasi (communicators), (5) berprinsip (principled), (6) berfikiran terbuka (open-minded), (7) prihatin (caring), (8) pengambil risiko (risk-takers), (9) seimbang (balanced) dan (10) reflektif (reflective). Kajian longitudinal yang dilaksanakan oleh KPM mendapati bahawa secara keseluruhannya penerapan IB Learner Profile dalam kalangan murid di 10 buah IBWS memenuhi enam aspirasi murid yang digariskan dalam PPPM 2013-2025 ke arah melahirkan modal insan unggul.

AbstrakTujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk menilai kerelevanan pengajian Tamadun

Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS) menurut pandang sudut pelajar bukan Islam dalam usaha untuk membentuk pandangan yang harmonis terhadap Islam seterusnya untuk membentuk dan memupuk perpaduan kaum di Malaysia. Kajian ini juga dijalankan dengan harapan pengajian Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS) mampu dijadikan sebagai pemangkin kepada kesedaran moral dalam kalangan pelajar bukan Islam terhadap Islam dan umat Islam sekali gus dapat memberi gambaran tentang kepelbagaian kaum mampu diasimilasi menerusi platform pengajian TITAS. Hal ini seiring dengan objektif Pendidikan Tamadun Islam untuk pelajar bukan Islam dan matlamat Pendidikan Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS) diperkenalkan pada tahun 1983. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif di mana seramai 203 orang pelajar bukan Islam di Uiniversiti Pendikkan Sultan Idris dijadikan sebagai sampel kajian. Min dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pencapaian matlamat dan objektif pengajian Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS) berada pada paras tinggi iaitu 3.81. Hal ini menunjukkan bahawa pengajian Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS) mampu dan berjaya memengaruhi kesedaran moral pelajar dalam kalangan pelajar bukan Islam terhadap agama Islam dan umat Islam. Kajian ini juga menyarankan agar pengajian Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS) terus dikekalkan sebagai silibus arus perdana dalam pengajian di peringkat Pra-Universiti dan ke atas.

AbstrakKajian ini akan mengkhusus kepada isu pendidikan dalam majalah Idaman.

Idaman selayaknya sebagai sebuah majalah kelolaan Persekutuan Guru-guru Melayu Batu Pahat telah memberi perhatian serius terhadap isu-isu yang berkait dengan soal pendidikan. Aspek pendidikan diberi penekanan kerana pelajaran merupakan kunci yang boleh membebaskan kaum masyarakat Melayu daripada kongkongan pemikiran dan adat yang kolot, dan menggerakkan mereka ke arah kemajuan tanpa menjejaskan nilai-nilai ketimuran dan tuntutan agama. Sebelum Perang Dunia Kedua Idaman dilihat pergi lebih jauh dengan melihat keperluan pendidikan kepada kanak-kanak sebagai persediaan ke arah menghadapi cabaran abad ke-20. Idaman dalam rencana keluarannya juga banyak menggesa masyarakat Melayu agar menghantar kanak-kanak lelaki dan perempuan ke sekolah kerana dengan cara ini lebih ramai golongan muda terpelajar yang dapat menjadi pemimpin masyarakat dapat dihasilkan. Kajian ini mengunakan kaedah kajian perpustakaan dengan menganalisis majalah Idaman dan disokong oleh sumber lain seperti dokumen, laporan, akhbar dan buku-buku yang berkaitan. Oleh sebab kajian tentang pendidikan masyarakat Melayu di Johor sebelum Perang Dunia Kedua dalam majalah Idaman kurang mendapat perhatian penyelidik sejarah, diharap kajian ini akan dapat membantu ahli sejarah melihat kepentingan majalah Idaman sebagai antara majalah yang mampu mengubah pemikiran masyarakat Melayu terutamanya tentang isu pendidikan sebelum Perang Dunia Kedua.

AbstrakDalam Islam, bapa merupakan tunggak utama dalam sebuah institusi keluarga.

Mereka berperanan utama bukan hanya pada aspek kepimpinan keluarga semata-mata. Bahkan bapa juga berperanan penting dalam proses pembinaan watak atau karakter anak-anak. Walau bagaimanapun, kadangkala masyarakat melihat peranan mendidik anak-anak adalah tugas utama ibu, dan bapa hanya berperanan memberikan nafkah dan keperluan asas dalam hidup. Kertas ini bertujuan untuk mengeluarkan panduan kebapaan bagi para bapa dalam memenuhi tanggungjawab mereka dalam pendidikan anak-anak, berdasarkan kisah-kisah yang menunjukkan peranan bapa di dalam al-Quran. Kajian ini berasaskan kajian kualitatif yang melibatkan pengumpulan data berkaitan tafsir kisah-kisah al-Quran daripada sumber primer dan sekunder, dan analisa menyeluruh secara induktif dilakukan untuk menghasilkan pendekatan kebapaan daripada kisah-kisah al-Quran tersebut. Kajian menunjukkan bahawa peranan bapa lebih tertumpu kepada fungsi mendidik melalui nasihat berbentuk perkataan juga contoh terbaik melalui amalan seharian mereka. Panduan ini pastinya membantu dalam usaha untuk memperbaiki dan mengukuhkan gaya asuhan para bapa secara khusus, demi kesejahteraan anak-anak dan keluarga.

AbstractThe paper examines the concept of inclusive Education which is a process of

enhancing the capacity of education system in a country to reach out to diverse learner with or without special need. An inclusive school is a place where everyone belongs, is accepted, supported, by his peers and other members of the school community in the course of meeting his/her educational needs The paper also examines the concept moral education and its importance to the unique needs of the special need child. The paper seeks to discuss the concept of special need children, their characteristics, role of teacher in enhancing moral education and character development for children with special need. The challenges faced by children with special needs were discussed in the paper. Finally Recommendations were drawn on how the education of children with special need can be improved in an inclusive education by giving moral education which will lead to a holistic personality possessing, high moral standard in their day to day activities, attitude, thought, feeling, work, and output which is in line with the norms and values of every society. Inclusive education can be improve through giving support and assistance to the special child by parents, teacher and the whole community and by developing the special need child morally, socially and psychologically.

HUBUNGAN ANTARA PEMBELAJARAN KOPERATIF MELALUI KAEDAH STAD DAN PENCAPAIAN MATEMATIK DALAM

AbstrakKajian ini dilaksanakan khusus untuk melihat hubungan antara pembelajaran

koperatif khasnya melalui kaedah STAD dan pencapaian matematik dalam kalangan murid Tahun 3. Kajian ini dibuat untuk menentukan sama ada penggunaan pendekatan koperatif model STAD dapat meningkatkan pencapaian pelajar dalam topik tolak dan campur wang. Kajian Eksperimen telah dijalankan selama dua minggu. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 60 orang pelajar yang dibahagikan kepada dua kumpulan iaitu 30 orang pelajar Kumpulan Kawalan dan 30 orang pelajar lagi Kumpulan Eksperimen. Kumpulan Eksperimen telah diberikan rawatan mengenai pendekatan koperatif model STAD, manakala Kumpulan Kawalan tidak diberi sebarang rawatan sebaliknya mengikuti proses pengajaran seperti biasa. Kedua-dua kumpulan ini telah diminta menduduki dua ujian iaitu ujian pra dan ujian pos. Rasionalnya, ujian pra ini dijalankan bagi memberi gambaran awal terhadap prestasi kedua-dua kumpulan sebelum proses rawatan dijalankan. Ujian pos pula menyusul selepas proses rawatan diberikan bagi melihat perbezaan pencapaian pelajar-pelajar tersebut. Data yang diperoleh disemak, direkod dan dianalisis secara kualitatif. Analisis deskriiptif berbentuk jadual, carta palang berganda meliouti kiraan peritus,min, median dan sisihan piawai telah digunakan. Kemudian, perbezaan min antara kedua-dua kumpulan telah diuji dengan menggunakan ujian taburan t.Menurut dapatan kajian ini terbuktilah bahawa pembelajaran koperatif model STAD telah meningkatkan pencapaian murid dalam mata pelajaran matematik.

KEPIMPINAN ISTRUKSIONAL PENGETUA DAN HUBUNGANNYA DENGAN TAHAP MOTIVASI GURU DI DAERAH KUALA LANGAT

AbstrakKajian ini dijalankan di tiga buah sekolah menengah di daerah Kuala Langat,

Selangor. Ini adalah kajian jenis kuantitatif. Soal selidik sebagai instrumen telah digunakan dan responden adalah seramai 188 orang guru yang telah dipilih dengan menggunakan kaedah persampelan rawak mudah. ‘The Leadership Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ)’ telah digunakan sebagai instrumen bagi mengukur kepimpinan pengetua manakala ‘A Questionnaire Measure of Individual Differences in Achieving Tendecy (QMAT)’ telah digunakan untuk mengukur tahap motivasi guru-guru di daerah Kuala Langat. Kedua-dua instrumen ini menunjukkan nilai alpha Cronbach iaitu 0.93 dan 0.79. Secara keseluruhannya, kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa amalan kepimpinan pengetua di daerah Kuala Langat serta tahap motivasi di kalangan guru-guru di daerah Kuala Langat berada pada tahap yang tinggi. Terdapat hubungan yang positif di antara kepimpinan pengetua dengan tahap motivasi di kalangan guru di daerah Kuala Langat.

AbstrakMakalah ini membincangkan tentang Pendidikan Moral menurut perspektif

negara Jerman. Perbincangan ini termasuklah pendidikan dan pengajaran sebagai pembentuk karakter atau watak masyarakat sebuah bangsa sehingga corak hidup masyarakat, sebahagian besar dipengaruhi oleh sistem pendidikan dan pengajaran yang telah ditentukan polanya. Perbincangan seterusnya berkisar tentang sejarah Pendidikan Moral selepas Perang Dunia Kedua, falsafah dan pendekatan Pendidikan Moral di negara Jerman. Antara pendekatan yang akan dibincangkan adalah pendekatan interaksi, struktur dan falsafah serta interpretasi. Dalam hal ini, pendidikan di negara barat (Eropah) khususnya negara Jerman sangat kontra dengan pendidikan di negara timur (Asia). Pada masa kini, pola Pendidikan Moral negara Jerman berorientasikan kebebasan, individualis dan rasionalis. Manakala pola Pendidikan masa akan datiang adalah berpaksikan progresivisme, rekonstruksionisme dan eksistensialisme.

AbstractThis paper aims to explore the factors influencing Malay academic women to

be involved in the paid labour market. Two groups of respondents with a small sample size have been recruited. The first group consists of 10 married young Malay academic women and the second group includes 5 single female academic, who work in public universities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor areas. A qualitative one to one in-depth interview method was used to gather the primary data. Thematic analysis is used to analyze the data. The main factor that influenced their decision to work was because they had the academic qualification. In exploring this factor, parents’ socioeconomic status and educational background had caused their positive attitude and was seen as a starting point for them to engage in career. The support from husbands and boyfriends/ fiancees also contributed to women’s decision to work. Other factors were economic needs, financial responsibilities towards parents, personal interests and self-satisfaction, following a role model and being a role model, as well as the Islamic religion. In exploring their experiences, freedom, access and opportunities in education and employment as expressed by these women, they are still being subjected to religious rules and Malay cultural norms.

AbstractSustainable Development Goal (SDG) was established with the aim to

save the world through deep changes and transformation in all aspects of life. Temporarily list of 17 SDGs embed profoundly universal moral values that is crucial in all aspects of life. SDG’s could be seen as a guided moral standard of how living in 2030 should take place. Ultimate discussions of this conceptual paper embark upon proposition thought of integrating and disseminate SDG into moral classroom practices. For that purpose reflective analysis of literature were made to identify current status of overall moral classroom pedagogy and it consequences on achieving SDG. Later part of discussion offers the possibility of implementing transformative pedagogy in dealing with challenges and requisite of at least mapping moral education philosophy and SDG’s. The conclusion called moral educators to revisit a paradigm to transform moral classroom practice in parallel to achieve SDG.

AbstractThe era of the industrial revolution 4.0 demands the relevance of education

and employment in accordance with the times and science and technology while still paying attention to the human aspect. The new literacy that is needed is human literacy (humanities, communication and design) that is in accordance with the development of the Education Curriculum in Indonesia at the 21st time, namely communication and collaboration and conversations called cross-cultural communication. Social skills can be a basic asset in communication and interaction skills training but at present, references to skills, social and skills development, from outside Indonesia. Based on this, the researcher will gather local wisdom which has been the values that replace and become references in the behavior of people in Indonesia. The first research location was in Kampung Adat Lubuk Sukon, District of Want Jaya, District of Aceh Besar. The research method used is the phenomenological method. Interviews were conducted with key informants, namely the head of adat, the local community and cultural observers. Interviews with participants, namely people from traditional villages, were conducted by considering phenomenology so that researchers could see how to be involved in social life in daily life. It is hoped that after knowing the local wisdom factors that shape social skills can help develop community character in Lubuk Sukon.

AbstrakMatlamat Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan adalah untuk melahirkan insan

yang holistik dari segi jasmani, intelektual, rohani, dan intelektual. Oleh yang demikian, sekolah dilihat mempunyai peranan yang penting dalam memastikan matlamat tersebut dapat dicapai. Antara langkah yang boleh dilakukan oleh sekolah adalah melalui penerapan bentuk iklim moral. Konsep iklim moral dipelopori oleh Kohlberg dan Noddings telah mengemukakan idea mengenai bentuk ideal persekitaran sekolah yang dapat membantu perkembangan moral murid. Namun demikian, terdapat jurang dalam idea iklim moral yang dipelopori oleh kedua-dua tokoh berkenaan iaitu kedua-duanya tidak memberikan penekanan terhadap aspek kesejahteraan murid. Konsep sejahtera merupakan cabang daripada disiplin psikologi positif memberikan banyak penekanan terhadap amalan dan pilihan nilai-nilai untuk kehidupan bermoral. Kajian lepas menunjukkan bahawa konsep sejahtera di sekolah dapat mempengaruhi kesejahteraan murid, pencapaian akademik, dan aspek pembelajaran murid. Oleh itu, kertas ini akan membincangkan konsep kesejahteraan yang merangkumi aspek seperti sosial, emosi, fizikal, kerohanian, dan kognitif murid. Perbincangan juga turut melihat sejauhmanakah konsep sejahtera ini dapat diintegrasikan dalam konsep iklim moral di sekolah.

AbstrakKarakteristik semangat kekitaan melalui konsep ‘asabiyyah Ibnu Khaldun

menekankan perasaan saling sayang-menyayangi yang dapat membawa kepada sikap taat setia, kepatuhan dan berani menegakkan kebenaran sehingga sanggup berjuang dan berkorban demi mempertahankan ahli serta tanah air. Walau bagaimanapun dalam kerencaman masyarakat pelbagai etnik kini, kekuatan semangat kekitaan generasi muda perlu dikaji dalam memastikan ketekalan tamadun Malaysia pada masa akan datang. Justeru, makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perbezaan semangat kekitaan berdasarkan etnik dalam kalangan Mahasiswa Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT). Kajian telah dilaksanakan dalam kalangan 407 mahasiswa Melayu, Cina dan India secara pensampelan rawak berstrata dari Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Multimedia (MMU) dan Universiti Selangor (UNISEL). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan pada tahap p<.05 di dalam skor semangat kekitaan bagi ketiga-tiga kumpulan etnik: F(2,404)=4.437, p=.01. Perbandingan post-hoc menunjukkan skor min untuk etnik India (min: 3.29, S.P: .36) berbeza secara signifikan dengan etnik Melayu (min: 3.15; S.P: .31) dan etnik Cina (min: 3.11, S.P: .33). Ini membuktikan bahawa terdapat perbezaan semangat kekitaan antara etnik dengan mahasiswa India didapati mempunyai semangat kekitaan yang lebih kuat berbanding mahasiswa Melayu dan Cina. Dapatan ini memperkukuhkan perbincangan mengenai semangat keperwiraan dan kesetiaan kepada negara yang diterapkan dalam falsafah hidup masyarakat India telah dapat membentuk kekuatan semangat kekitaan mereka terhadap negara. Dapatan ini turut memberi interpretasi bahawa faktor etnik dapat dijadikan agenda utama memperkukuhkan lagi semangat kekitaan sebagai bangsa Malaysia.

AbstrakKajian tinjauan literatur ini dilakukan bagi mengetahui dengan lebih mendalam

berkenaan kontrak sosial di Malaysia dan penulisan serta kajian yang telah dilakukan oleh penyelidik-penyelidik sebelum ini. Kontrak sosial merupakan persetujuan dan pemuafakatan antara etnik terbesar di Tanah Melayu iaitu Melayu, Cina dan India dalam mencapai kemerdekaan. Walaupun tidak ditulis istilah kontrak sosial dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan Malaysia, namun istilah ini digunakan untuk menterjemahkan takrifan bagi keadilan dan kata sepakat yang telah dicapai oleh pemimpin bagi kaum Cina, Melayu dan India serta telah termaktub dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan 1957. Kontrak sosial terdiri daripada Bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa kebangsaan, Islam sebagai agama Persekutuan, hak istimewa Orang Melayu dan Bumiputera Sabah dan Sarawak serta kedudukan Raja-Raja Melayu. Segala persetujuan yang telah termaktub dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan ini merupakan antara asas perpaduan kaum di Malaysia. Dan seharusnya kontrak sosial ini terus utuh sebagai asas perpaduan di Malaysia demi kelangsungan sebuah keharmonian masyarakat.

WASTE AUDIT & RECYCLING AWARENESS IN POLITEKNIK PORT DICKSON

AbstractWaste Audit was implemented in Politeknik Port Dickson to produce the waste

generations and compositions around the campus. The findings provided basic understanding of solid waste profile and identify the percentage of possible composition recycled from the amount of solid waste generated. The study was conducted within 4 weeks from 5 August to 22 September 2018. The solid waste collected is sorted by type which is recyclable and non-recyclable item. The non-recycleable items is divided into 5 sub-categories namely paper/box, aluminium, plastic, organic waste and others. A questionnaire survey was also carried out and analysed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) on 400 students with different department, gender, semester and race to obtain information on the level of awareness, knowledges and attitudes toward recycling programs. Finding shows an estimated of total 848.95kg during study period which cover 10% of total location / facilities in PoliPD Campus. This projection makes the average waste generated per student is about 0.14kg/cap.day. Waste segregation data for overall indicates that 236.75 kg (27.65%) is recyclable and 614.10kg (72.35%) is non-recyclable. From the recycleable item the amount of 8.99%, 2.93% and 15,73% is for paper, aluminium/metal and plastic respectively. However organic waste is contributing the highest quantity of waste with 585.63 kg (68.99%). Recycling activities carried out on campus contribute to the low percentage of recycled materials. However, there is a high potential for converting the organic waste into fertilizer for landscaping in PoliPD. Data analysis on recycle awareness showed students understanding the concept of recycling in general even though some exposure has been given but it does not guarantee the level of students’ understanding on the concept of recycling and waste management. The approach on waste management is necessarily be done in practical. However, some of these programs have re-educated students about the importance of recycling, involvement and cooperation of citizens in assisting the government to address the problem management and disposal of solid waste in Malaysia.

AbstractThis paper present part of a dissertation thesis exploring moral reasoning

aptitudes of preservice teachers in Moral Education teachers’ training program in Malaysia. This research intends to explore how Narrative Approach could promote preservice teachers’ reasoning skill. However, this paper will only present the research findings based on the method of observation. The research was conducted with 27 preservice teachers in a Moral Education coursework class, titled ‘Issues and Moral Conflict’ which utilizes the Narrative Approach as a teaching strategy. The observation was focused on how the ‘Narrative Approach’ contributes to students’ moral reasoning development. The findings revealed that the Narrative Approach promoting preservice teachers’ moral reasoning through three themes; indoctrination avoidance, resources of understanding and diversity sensitivity.

AbstrakEtika kewarganegaraan merupakan elemen penting bagi masyarakat berbilang kaum

di Malaysia. Penghayatan dan pemantapan etika kewarganegaraan boleh dilakukan melalui pelbagai medium. Kertas konsep ini bertujuan meneliti penghayatan etika kewarganegaraan melalui kursus Penghayatan Etika dan Peradaban yang merupakan satu kursus wajib baru di institusi pengajian tinggi Malaysia, khususnya di universiti awam (UA). Kursus tersebut meliputi sembilan topik penting bagi memupuk penghayatan etika kewarganegaraan iaitu: 1) Pengenalan Ilmu Etika dan Peradaban dalam Acuan Malaysia, 2) Teori Etika, 3) Etika dan Peradaban dalam Kepelbagaian Tamadun, 4) Pemantapan Kesepaduan Nasional ke Arah Pembinaan Peradaban, 5) Pembentukan Tapak Integrasi, 6) Pengaruh ICT ke atas Kesepaduan Nasional, 7) Peranan Etika dan Peradaban Mendokong Tanggungjawab Sosial, dan 9) Cabaran Kelestarian Etika dan Peradaban. Setiap topik tersebut membincangkan secara mendalam elemen etika dan peradaban dalam konteks kewarganegaraan Malaysia. Gabungan topik tersebut dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan memupuk kefahaman mengenai kewarganegaraan dalam kalangan mahasiswa. Selain itu, elemen aplikasi juga diterapkan melalui kursus tersebut. Ini dapat dilihat melalui aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP) dan pentaksiran yang menekankan elemen High Impact Educational Practices (HIEPs). Penghayatan dan pemantapan etika kewarganegaraan juga diterapkan melalui kewajipan menggunakan Bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa pengantar kursus tersebut bagi warganegara Malaysia. Setakat ini, kursus tersebut hanya diwajibkan kepada pelajar di UA sahaja. Ada baiknya jika kursus tersebut juga diwajibkan kepada pelajar di universiti swasta (US). Selain itu, keberkesanan kursus tersebut dalam menyemai etika kewaganegaraan dalam kalangan mahasiswa perlu diukur setelah beberapa tempoh perlaksanaannya. Ini kerana penghayatan etika kewarganegaraan merupakan salah satu teras ke arah pemantapan peradaban di Malaysia.

ABSTRAKKajian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pelbagai dimensi motivasi kesukarelawanan (nilai,

kefahaman, peningkatan, kerjaya, sosial dan perlindungan) yang wujud dalam kalangan guru pelatih Institut Pendidikan Guru di Sarawak yang terlibat dalam kursus Bina Insan Guru (BIG). Kursus BIG merupakan kursus yang mendedahkan guru pelatih dengan aktiviti yang dapat memupuk kemahiran insaniah antaranya melalui program kemasyarakatan dan kesukarelawanan. Kajian ini juga menganalisis korelasi antara pelbagai pembolehubah iaitu dimensi motivasi kesukarelawanan, tahap kepuasan dan kesediaan penglibatan berterusan sebagai sukarelawan. Kaedah pengumpulan data adalah melalui soal selidik yang diadaptasi daripada Volunteer Functions Inventory (VFI). Seramai 204 orang guru pelatih sepenuh masa IPG di Sarawak dipilih sebagai responden kajian. Pemilihan responden adalah secara persampelan rawak iaitu guru pelatih tahun akhir yang telah lengkap mengikuti kursus Bina Insan Guru. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan jenis motivasi kesukarelawanan guru pelatih IPG yang paling tinggi ialah motivasi kefahaman. Ini menunjukkan motivasi utama yang mendorong guru pelatih terlibat dalam aktiviti kesukarelawanan adalah untuk mempelajari pelbagai perkara baharu dan menggunapakai ilmu yang dimilikinya. Jenis motivasi kedua tinggi ialah motivasi nilai altruisme, di mana guru pelatih yang terlibat dalam program kesukarelawanan juga didorong oleh sifat kemanusiaan dan belas kasihan. Hasil kajian juga menunjukkan motivasi nilai altruisme kesukarelawanan mempunyai hubungan signifikan yang paling tinggi dengan tahap kepuasan yang diperolehi oleh guru pelatih dalam penglibatan kesukarelawanan. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mendapati wujudnya hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi kesukarelawanan dengan tahap kepuasan diri guru pelatih dan kesediaan penglibatan berterusan guru pelatih sebagai sukarelawan pada masa depan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kursus BIG berjaya membantu memberi pendedahan dan kefahaman yang baik kepada guru pelatih tentang kesukarelawanan. Kajian ini turut mencadangkan kursus BIG boleh ditambahbaik lagi berdasarkan jenis motivasi, tahap kepuasan diri dan semangat untuk terus menjadi sukarelawan dalam kalangan guru pelatih.
