ARE YOU TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOUR ASSETS? You’re the first place a consumer would go with TPMS service concerns. Since U.S. Federal regulations have made it a requirement that most new cars and trucks are equipped with original equipment tire pressure monitoring systems, you should make sure you’re checking out your customers’ systems during routine vehicle inspections. MAKE SURE YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW You’re the One-Stop-Shop for all their tire needs: Tire Rotation/Balancing Tire Inspection and Replacement Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems And while you’re at it, provide them with some information to help them understand the role TPMS can play in maintaining proper tire inflation and why tire pressure is important: According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), underinflated tires can cut gas mileage by more than 3%. For every one pound per square inch (psi) all four tires fall below factory recommended inflation levels, mileage can drop by 0.4%. Tires lose about one psi for every 10° F of temperature drop. Underinflation or overinflation can cause premature tire wear and affect ride quality. IMPORTANT TIRE BUSINESS FACTS If you’re not already in the Mopar® Tire Business, it is time to look at it again.
