This MOP describes the procedure to replace all SIUs with productRevision=R1G on live network VNP2. The procedure is used the step by step for backup a configuration on one SIU and then restore this configuration on another SIU which will replace in. For here, ASP/SUB will be easy implement SIU replacement, and also less impact to customer services.
Important notes for ASP/SUB: - Be sure to have the correct SIU Software (T12B_ CXP 102 138/1 R2AB). This software will be getting from
E///. - Laptop must be working well. - Ethernet cable. - Software supports SSH/Telnet (Puty or Secure CRT). - Software supports SFTP server (should be used Core FTP mini). - Site specific configuration (xml file) backup file included in this procedure. - Make sure replaced new SIU is different version R1G.
Once you have had the correct SIU software and backup file, extract those to a folder off your PC in C:\ SIU. If you havent already created a SIU folder off your C:\ drive.

SETUP Description
NOTE: If you have any problems with any steps of this MOP, DO NOT PROCEED, Contact your PM immediately.
The Steps below need to be executed in the specified sequence on all impacted nodes.
SET COMPUTER IP TO:
192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
Setup a telnet session for connecting to SIU local console port:
SIU IP address: 192.168.1.1
login: admin password: hidden
LAUNCH FTP PROGRAM (User: siu ; Pass: siu) & Port: 22
1. Double click on the file msftpsrvr.exe to start the mini-sftp server program on your PC.
2. Change these values on the mini-sftp-server as below

3 SITE SPECIFIC STEP-BY-STEP
(Activities on new SIU)
1.
- Power cables are connected temporary to new SIU from PWR out 2 port of RBS 6601.
- Check the power LED indicator is lit.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the laptop port to the Console port on the SIU.
Heres 2G ID.

The SIU local maintenance IP address is 192.168.1.1 (Sub netmask 255.255.255.0).

Upgrade SIU Software step by step:
The software upgrade requires a SFTP server running on your PC. The software and configuration files will be downloaded from your PC to the SIU.
Start the SFTP server on your PC and configure it with the username and password siu and set Root path to c:
Enter the following commands:
OSmon> uselocalsftp on
OSmon> startswsession 1 OperationSucceeded
OSmon> downloadsw 1 sftp://siu:[email protected]/SIU/T12B_siu02_sw.tar OperationSucceeded
OSmon> getswsessionstatus 1 DownloadInProgress OperationSucceeded
Wait up to 5 minutes for the software download to complete.
OSmon> getswsessionstatus 1 DownloadCompleted OperationSucceeded
When the software download is completed, activate the software using the following command:
OSmon> activatesw 1 OperationSucceeded
The SIU will restart and connectivity will be lost.

Restore SIU configuration xml file. (Configuration xml file has just gotten from step of item 2 above) Make sure your SFTP server is running. The SIU configuration file must be in XML format.

OSmon> download bcm1 sftp://siu:[email protected]/SIU/SIU_HCxxx.xml OperationSucceeded

When the file download is complete, activate the configuration using the following command:

The SIU will restart and connectivity will be lost

Check SIU LED indicators are normal
Refer to figure in step 1 to locate the LED indicators in the SIU.

If the Fault or Info. LED is lit, troubleshoot and clear the fault.
Make sure, all ports and parameters on new SIU are defined correct as existing SIU.
4 SWAP SIU HARDWARE
1.
- Make sure, new SIU finished restoration configuration & working status is ready.
- Must be making labels on all cables connected to ports of existing SIU. ===> very very important.

- After, anything is ready. ASP will call for E/// guys confirm starting time swap SIU. When accepted by E///. ASP will turn off power existing SIU & replace new SIU.
- Make sure, all cable are reconnected correction as before swap.
- Check physical links are up. - And then, ASP need contact with E/// guys as soon as possible.

Log-in to new SIU after replaced and enter the following commands:

Check alarms in the SIU OSmon> getalarmlist
Troubleshoot and clear any alarms.
Note:
- Make sure after swap, all alarms are the same as before swap on the both SIU/Node B/RBS 2G.

If the ping is not successful, then troubleshoot.
Note: Make sure ping to OSS ok.

Enter the following commands to print the SIU configuration: OSmon> getmoattribute stn=0 OSmon> getmoattribute stn=0,equipment=0 OSmon> getmoattribute
OSmon> log read All 5 logfiles will keep on your laptop and send to Ericsson for audit (or VNP requirement later on).
6 Waiting confirm from OMC/Eric before leave the site.
