In Ireland, we have lots of lush greengrass because of our mild wet climate.

This means that Irish cows can grazeon grass for up to 300 days per year.

Irish dairy is renownedworldwide for its high-quality

grass-based production system.

Our milk comes from 18,500 farms,many of which are family owned and

have been rearing cows for generations.

Cows are milked twice a dayin milking parlours, once in the

morning and once in the evening.

A driver from the dairy collectsthe milk in a refrigerated tanker

which is cleaned every day.

When you drink Irish milk you can besure that you are enjoying world-class

quality milk from grass-fed cows.

Milk is poured into recyclable bottlesand cartons and delivered to shops,homes and schools around Ireland.

Empty cartons and bottlesof milk should be cleaned,

flattened and recycled.

The milk is tested and heated toa high temperature (pasteurisation)

and cooled quickly.
