It is regretted to point out that although, National Policy for Older Persons was notified in 1999 by the Nodal Ministry, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India but its implementation is zero, although a period of more than 15 years has already elapsed. Even the amended National Policy for Senior Citizens 2011 is still to be

implemented. At present, there are 12 crores senior citizens across India and in Delhi alone 11 Lakh. Due to longevity, the population of Senior Citizens are growing day by day but no adequate attention is made by any Government for the welfare of Senior Citizens. Now time has come to force the Govt. to get financial, social & health security to all Senior Citizens. To achieve this goal, we urge all the senior citizens associations across Delhi to strengthen the hands of Confederation of Senior Citizens Associations of Delhi (An umbrella Body of 11 Lakh Senior Citizens) headed by its Chairperson, J.R. Gupta.
