MONTHLY ANNOUNCEMENTS OF PILGRIM REST BAPTIST CHURCH
JANUARY 2016
We currently have one combined worship service at 10am on each Sunday. Our 8am and 11am Sunday worship services will resume Sunday, February 7. Sunday School will resume at 9:30am on February 7 as well.
Bible Study will resume January 6, on the first Wednesday. Please join us at 12 noon or 7pm.
Also, please be aware that the administrative office will be closed from Thursday, December 24 through Friday, January 1.
Each year we begin our year by offering to God a first fruits offering. Nehemiah 10:35 says we obligate ourselves to bring the first fruits of our ground, and of the first fruits of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord. The first fruits offering is a faith declaration of the good things to come. To offer up the first fruits at the beginning of the year is to say, God, I believe that you are going to provide a bountiful harvest for me this year. Each year, testimonies have been given about how God has blessed as a result of the first fruits. You can sow your first fruit offering anytime during the month of January online or at any of our regularly scheduled worship services. Special offering envelopes will be available in the foyer.
"In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks. I did not eat any tasty
food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the
entire three weeks were completed." Daniel 10:2, 3
"So I gave my attention to the
Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with
fasting…" Daniel 9:3
Join us for our 2016 Daniel Fast January 2 through January 22. Brochures containing fasting
parameters and scriptures for each day are available in the
foyer and on our website.
PRBC members are asked to choose a prayer partner for the ENTIRE MONTH OF JANUARY. It's easy as 1, 2, 3!
1. Choose someone you will commit to pray with regularly. Share phone numbers and figure out times to connect to pray together at least WEEKLY. Please choose a prayer partner who is NOT IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD. Let's get to know someone new through prayer.
2. Complete the Prayer Partner Form TOGETHER with your partner.
3. Be obedient, faithful and diligent to pray on the phone or face to face often.
*PRAYER FORMS ARE LOCATEDIN THE FOYER*
KC3 will resume January 17 for both Sunday and Wednesday fellowships. On Sunday mornings dismissal for children, kindergarten through 6th grade, will be at the same time that we greet our guests. KC3 children can meet a member of the ministry at the fountain before the fellowship hall where they will be escorted to classroom F. We ask that a responsible adult retrieves each child after service. If you were unable to attend our Meet-N-Greet, please find out what you’ve missed from a member of our ministry team! We have an exciting 2016 in store for our children!
Annual Warm Hands Warm Feet -
We are still collecting hats, gloves, scarves, socks, etc. to keep the children in our
community warm this winter. You can drop off your items in the BLUE bin in the
Fellowship Hall.
Are you seeking a more personal and rewarding involvement in the worship service? Are you
seeking a warm, friendly and welcoming environment?
What about “reserved” seating? Or free voice lessons? If so, then the Voices of Unity (VOU) is the
place to be. Membership has its advantages.
The VOU is seeking new members. If interested, please contact the VOU leadership team at
[email protected] or join us any Thursday this month at 7:00 p.m. here at the church. We are
saving a “seat” just for you!
Our Men's Fellowship is on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall. Join us Monday, January 11, for Food, Fellowship, and Fun in Jesus Christ.
PRBC’s Male Chorus will rehearse at 7pm on Monday, January 18. ALL MEN are asked to come together for practice.
Statements will be handed out in Classroom D on Sundays. Please see the schedule below. If you would like your contribution statement sent to you via e-mail, send your request at anytime to
There will be no First Friday Fellowship in
January. FFF will resume in February. Come
out and enjoy an evening of growing and
laughter with your fellow sisters in Christ on
