MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-June 2018 1. Sankalp participated in the Haiku Competition by Mission Box and submitted its entry for the competition. 2. Common Tests were held at Giridih and Kalahandi Centres and marks were shared on the recently created Sankalp All India WhatsApp group. 3. Common Test was also conducted at the recently inaugurated Birhor Centre. The attendance was good 4. Classes have started at Adarsh Bhawan Centre after the summer break. 5. Common Test was also held at Sihodih Centre, Durga Mandir 6. Sankalp donated Rs 10,000 towards Shetty Trust. Mr Shetty who is popularly known as the beggar who begs in the local trains of Mumbai to help underprivileged kids in their education sought the help of Sankalp in constructing his school 7. A health awareness programme was organized at Kalahandi Centre. Students from both Talnuagaon and Mohangiri Centres along with girls from the villages attended the session which was led by local health workers and doctors. 8. SHG Groups were also invited for the health awareness session at the centre. 9. Students from our Giridih Centres ( Sitalpur and Sihodih ) put their heart & zeal out and participated with full vigor and enthusiasm in various competitions organized by Sankalp and Youth Cultural Society. Girls exhibited their talent in dance & ramp walk while boys stole the show with their fancy dress event. Apart from the cultural events, drawing and speech competition too were conducted and winners were awarded by the team. The key guests who graced the occasion were Dr. Balbhadra, Dr. Mrigendra Narayan Singh & Dr. Balendu Shekhar (Professors, Giridih Mahavidyalaya) who awarded the winners. Vipul Verma (Ex- Chairman, Giridih Student Union), Phool Devi (Village Sarpanch), Neelam Mam (Teacher-Sitalpur Centre) Mazda, Shalini, Annu, Juhi and Pooja (Teachers- Sihodih Centre) 10. Sankalp team visited Bhubaneshwar in May 2018 and met officials from Kalinga institute of Social Sciences (KISS) to ensure admission for few of our students from Kalahandi Centre who are extremely poor and cannot afford quality education. Sankalp's efforts bore fruit when KISS Team visited our Kalahandi Centres in the month of June and shortlisted 2 students for admission in 2018 session. Ghungura Jyoti and Tikeshwar Majhi got admission in KISS. Admission process will be completed by 5th July and classes to start from 15-20th July. The institution offers residential education from primary level to Post Graduation free 11. On the eve of #World Environment day, a drawing competition was held for students at TELCO centre. Topics being (I) Say No to plastics - class 8,9,10 (II) Save earth - class 5,6,7 (III) pollution - juniors. Children participated very enthusiastically. The drawings were very deep and children beautifully conveyed the importance of preserving our environment 12. MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-June 2018

1. Sankalp participated in the Haiku Competition by Mission Box and submitted its

The felicitation event "YES WE CAN" was organized by Faith In India NGO, a social group based in Jamshedpur working for the empowerment of rural and tribal children and women and is led by Ms. Anamika Majumdar.

13. Avantika of 2014 batch donated stationery at our Aashiyana Centre from her first

salary.

14. Angad and Subhash, our Navodaya centre volunteers visited Seraikila Navodaya

(JNV) and recorded the details of the documents required for admission in the new

session.

15. Environment Day was celebrated at Dhanbad Centre by organizing Drawing

Competition, Poetry Writing and Skit Competition. Children also planted few plants

and took out an awareness rally on afforestation.

16. Navodaya Entrance Test preparation was continued at Dhanbad Centre as Navodaya

Exam is scheduled on 15th July for this district.

17. President has started taking classes at Telco Centre every Friday.

18. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special mention

was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making the

different activities successful

page noted huge hike in likes and membership over the month

2. Sankalp saw a huge rise in daily requests for addition to its FB Page of

Sankalp Volunteers Group.
